FOM do actually mute drivers' live radio mid-race too if they get too heated. That's what the 5 second delay is for.
It certainly is possible that it was a glitch though. I was watching his feed and there was a brief unusual visual cutout too.

Ham said in some of the post-race quotes that he missed the pit entry. It looked to me that he misjudged where the entry line was and realised he couldn't get over in time without cutting the white line.
The "wrong call" aspect I believe was his decision to start on mediums and then to not pit towards the end. The VSC seems to have been an accident.

The teams don't mute the radios, but FOM/the FIA do. Most often out of respect for a driver after a very heavy crash, but they also do it for significant driver outbursts.
If Hamilton's radio was like "**** !!!! I ****** missed the ******* ******* pit, **** **** ****** ****!!!!" then it may well have been cut.
Entire race-long rants by Alonso have been muted before.

How can you possibly read that and think that OP's primary concern here is about the criminals?
f10101
How did this even get as far as the stewards if Williams themselves had thought he took the chequered flag?
There was never going to be a penalty under those circumstances.

EDIT: I tried another socket downstairs and it turned on so I guess I’m paying for rewiring
Good call. This possibly can be safely DIY'd, but as you're asking this question about the power cable, I would suggest you don't have sufficient knowledge to. Get an electrician in, as you are planning.
I'd do so promptly, personally. A broken electrical connection like this often means there's an exposed live cable somewhere, which is a potential fire or electrocution hazard.
f10101
Original USB-C cable connected directly with no hubs or docking stations.
Usually using the original cable is usually the right move, but it's not unheard of manufacturer-supplied cables to go bad. Worth trying other ones if you haven't done. Double-check there's no lint in the usb ports, too.

For the young'uns: this is the original performance of Riverdance, featuring Flatley, and his late wife is also there I believe.
Well worth giving it some volume, and watching the whole thing: https://youtu.be/w0v_pu6miJ8
Nobody watching had any idea this was coming.

It certainly could have an impact on what gets provided to the user though. If the new app calls a different api version etc. Or could have different defaults. Or many, many, many, many, many, many, many other ways that an app update could lead to a different user experience.

There are potentially different "local authorities", though. Local PD may have been happy after sweeping the building, but maybe local government, or whoever, weren't.
f10101
It would if the sorting changed.

A thorough understanding of the reasoning behind the libraries you're using should make the syntax much easier to remember.
E.g. Figuring out why something in numpy takes an array vs some other data structure, say, will mean it becomes more intuitive to use - you'll never again get confused, thinking you should be passing in a map. Same goes for naming, etc.

Yeah, I was trying to think what his connection could have been to Jordan/FI/RP...
But he's a former Honda works-team driver, I guess, so I presume that's the angle.

In my neck of the woods, the rescue is free, but you're socially expected to make a significant donation to the organisation.
f10101
Hmmmmmmmmmmm... Even with that, thread with care.
It's led me down the garden path on more that one occasion, outright hallucinating parts of apis. It's not a problem with popular libraries, but when it's niche (or more to the point, old) it can get start conflating things between products, especially if there are gaps in the actual docs or feature set.

digital gear can be fine if they actually dial it in proper but so many bands just plug in a preset and call it done. analog rigs force you to work for the tone and it shows
I'd argue that the same bands who unthinkingly use presets are the same bands that sound a ratty incoherent mess in analogue.

You could even discern the latency on the guitar, really bad.
That's either psychosomatic or you've completely misidentified the cause.
As a listener, you're not hearing the <10ms of latency caused by the digital processing. Only the performer themselves can discern that.
But you're certainly going to hear the 100s of milliseconds of latency due to your distance from the sound source. Nothing anyone can do about that unless you're planning on only attending underwater gigs.

3200 -> 3000 would be difficult to detect outside of raw benchmarks. You'd need a bigger difference in speeds to really notice in the real world.
When people warned about not using slow ram with Ryzen, it was to make sure people didn't use 2133MHz or something - speeds that would have been just fine on Intel, but bottlenecked Ryzen.

Steven Page writes from the "asshole guy" perspective quite a bit, both Barenaked Ladies and solo. BNL's Humour of the Situation is up your street I think.
Jumping genres, there's a Miley Cyrus song too, which she sings suspiciously convincingly... "Never Be Me".

Obviously I can't say for this specific case, but in general the improvements in DNA tech in recent years have been dramatic. Police forces have been methodically going through old evidence and re-analysing with modern techniques - you see quite a few cold cases like this come back to life because of it recently. E.g. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/jun/18/dna-profile-from-victims-skirt-linked-to-suspect-in-trial-for-1967-bristol-court-hears

You can look at that poster and immediately know what sort of show to expect. I don't know the bands, but I would have gone to this if it was local to me, on the strength of that poster.
f10101
Welcome to death metal. I'm not sure anyone knows the answer to that. 'Twas ever thus.
f10101
Oh, I'm not saying you'd have actively listened to them. Just that you'll have heard the style.
f10101
I reckon you do know it, just don't know its name. It was the genre that managed to take the place of both r&b and hiphop during the 2010s:

The discussion here is about the VSC and how Lewis didn't end up in the pits, as that was a no-brainer pit decision. There was no "next lap" in this context. It was a half-lap VSC.
The calculus on the subsequent laps - without the benefit of a VSC - was very different. He did make that later call, yes, but with the team's blessing. There's no evidence he overruled them during the VSC.
