You're too worried about the future you cant even focus on the present. im having fun right now and thats all that matters to me.
actual smooth brain. if you can't even think ahead for even a brief second, then it's no wonder so many of you just spout whatever bullshit out of your mouth without even thinking about it. this isn't just a problem for you personally genius, as a decision that can hurt the game's longevity affects everyone and it turns out people don't like having their progression wasted.
I dont see how I'm going to struggle to find a group when theres many others like me who aren't whales. I wont be playing with the top whales in the game, I never was going to be. I'll be playing with the people who are progressing at the same speed I am. Other f2p and casual players
because you'll be pushed out by a far more stringent market than before when you fall further behind. Unless you're planning to gather everything yourself, craft everything yourself, farm everything yourself, and pray you don't fail the rng test, you'll fall further behind even if you do everything on a daily. what the fuck do you think killed other KMMORPG games? f2p and casual players simply quit instead of pushing on.
If I reach a point where I literally cant play because everyone have "progressed so far past me" then so be it, I'll deal with that when the day comes. For now I'm having a great time.
ok, then do that instead of writing some idiotic post about the importance of playing at your own pace without even realizing you're giving advice to doom people down the line. keep your thoughts to yourself next time.
lan60000
because by the time you're ready to tackle ludra, you'll be met with even more gatekeeping from those that have already done it or simply not even find people to run the content with from others who simply decide to not waste their life trying to play rng simulator to hit 3k. so many of you have this weird obsession trying to preach the single player mentality and not realize KMMORPGs force group play onto you in a time limit before you reach the dead zone of falling too far behind.
lan60000
because whatever resources ludra gives would accelerate those that are ahead, just like the resources that got people to ludra in the first place. the market's already fucked and we got you people here thinking Aion will be healthy 3-4 months down the line when you're finally ready to tackle ludra. this your first time playing KMMORPGs or something?
lan60000
Im having fun right now at abt 2300 gs, and when I eventually get to 3k gs I'm gonna have fun doing Ludra.
so you have no idea the steps to get to ludra
lan60000
this is why I use cheats and hacks to play the game
lan60000
i'm glad i still have my pirated shogun 2 in my storage
lan60000
it's just a design flaw from the devs themselves. apparently adding all these extra "noise" that isn't even required to complete is a good allocation of development resources for NCSoft.
lan60000
If you think that rez is half of what cleric does, then you're just ignorant
actual monkey in thinking people take clerics for their damage not their support utilities. seek help at this point because I'm convinced you're under hypnosis into thinking you're playing a green dps.
My entire point was that I don't use rez stones because I don't fucking die. If you stop dying you stop relying on needing fucking stones or a rez in general.
oh sorry i forgot only you play the game, so only your situation matters. how could i be so foolish to forget you're the main character here so only your perspective can be perceived as fact.
Also funny that you think I support the dogshit paying for rez system in the first place. Never once did I say that. I think it's dogshit in every single kmmo, but they all fucking do it. So if you want to complain about that then play a western mmo.
if you know how dogshit the system is, then why are you encouraging others to fucking use it genius? holy shit use your head for once in your life.
Then your dumb as fuck argument about not taking heals like, those are base skills? Not a significant ability that you have to sacrifice another skill or points for like the fucking stigma skill rez.
Hate to break it to you, but if you need stigma heals in the content we're doing right now, then you might actually just be fucking horrendous at healing. The whole point is to allocate one stigma point for res at the very minimum, and you surface level amoeba's are out here wringing at the thought of losing your noble aura as if your life is over the second you don't get to press a passive dps buff. Seek fucking therapy and learn your class is meant for helping others, and not for your personal pleasure.
And I guess I didn't make it clear enough for you, but I don't play a fucking cleric you dipshit. I literally said I've played all content in a double chanter party, being one of the chanters, with 0 clerics in our party.
so you have no fucking clue about the topic matter at hand, and is arguing with me based on conjecture? I was half joking when I said you people might be idiotic, but now I fully believe your parents failed you when you don't even know what the fuck is being discussed, and why this misconception about cleric res is creating a dangerous mentality down the line when people have no external consumables to save the run. fuck me are you people so empty in the head.
You do not need a cleric. But that does not mean a cleric is not nice to have. No they should not be your personal little pet and sometimes save you 50k kina to swap out a significant damage or healing stigma unless it's very specific fights where a mechanic has an extremely high death rate.
Don't know if you knew this, but the only people that can buy revive stones are subscribed users you imbecile. What happens to the rest of the player base when they can't even shell out 50k kina to buy the stones once they run out? quit the game? my god.
lan60000
i mean... be grateful people still give enough of a shit to complain about the game, or would you like to pay a visit to what BDO, Lost Ark, TnL subreddits look like?
lan60000
then why are you out here responding to my post when you're that nonchalant about how the game will be genius? Learn to be more honest with yourself so you wouldn't pull out such obvious lies to hide your denial.
lan60000
the unfortunate truth is future content will start gatekeeping classes regardless of their gear or CP. People already do to an extent, but will actually get worse later on.
lan60000
People were requiring reclear Title week 2 and whatnot in lost ark, You have to be delusional or never actually played lost ark to consider gatekeeping in Aion worse.
really? and what title would that be?
You are lying, so i am right. Nice argumentation. Not even gonna comment on that nonsense further.
not my fault you think personal anecdotes equate to fact
Again this whole abstract is completly pointless. You are literally not understanding it. Like how can someone be so dense. On average higher CP means more Damage, always. Because we are talking about the fucking average. Noone knows if whoever they accept is a godlike player or someone playing with their feet. So higher CP means better. Easy as that.
Hey donkey, you do realize that you yourself had to earn those CP by farming the same content these players are trying to go through right? You do realize if the only people you're looking for are players that always meet your CP standards, then you would've filtered your past self out in an instant or would've never progressed because you got gatekept right? The only thing you've admitted to me is how much you rely on gear to carry your fucking sorry ass through dungeons because apparently you got no hands to actually press buttons properly to deal damage, so you expect the same out of others as well. It's true that we don't know the quality of players that'll join in pugs, but what is certain is if you need others to be 20-30k CP above the fucking dungeon requirement, then you're the dogshit player that needs their corpse dragged to the finish line for the run to be "efficient" dipshit.
The negativity and toxicity you guys spread on mass deals more damage to any game and community then some gatekeepers ever could.
How ironic. I'm just glad people like you isn't on a real MMORPG so your bullshit don't spread.
lan60000
1st. Dude this sub is 99% posts like yours and similar doom posts regarding p2w and craftig.
because it's true. anyone that's not whale status is basically an NPC in NCSoft's eyes and only kept around to pad player activity. You can play for free, but good luck working harder than salt mine workers just to progress your character in a game
2nd. Gatekeeping is nowhere near close to being as bad as lost ark not even remotely.
considering how people are demanding 20-30k CP above the requirements for 1400 dungeons within the first two weeks of Aion's release, I'm gonna say you're full of shit. If anything, the gatekeeping far worse than Lost Ark at this point.
3rd. I have 4 alts i did not have issues joining any groups whatsoever. And they dont have outstanding CP because while they benefit from pets etc they dont have stigmas. So what my alts have anyone can easily reach with some sidestuff.
when you lie to make a point. I suppose others are just incredibly unlucky and you're the main character so everybody accepts you without question right?
4th Your comment regarding players with 100k CP doing 5k DPS is so dumb and hearing that same argument from "the gatekept" people again and again makes me think maybe they deserve it
they're not wrong when a lot of people conflate combat power to skill. A lobotomite could spend their monthly salary to boost their character higher than your average player, but this wouldn't somehow fix the problem where they can't dodge for shit, keep uptime, or even track their cooldowns properly or read mechanics. There's a reason so many of you people even play KMMORPG's in the first place, since you love to brute force through the content by banging your heads against it, then call that "skill".
Lastly. Gatekeeping will always exist as long as there is a chance to fail or lose anything (even just time) due to others. It always has and always will.
finally something I can agree to. too bad the problem now isn't that people are gatekeeping for a good reason, but because they're so self-unaware of just how absolutely dogshit they are that they require other players with higher combat power to carry their sorry asses. it is what it is.
lan60000
i play what my friends play, and it is precisely that I've played these type of games before that I understand its inherent flaws, and is willing to air them out instead of acting like a rabid fanboy which you people cannot seem to catch yourselves doing. If you want the game to succeed, maybe try to understand the reason TnL failed will be the same reason Aion 2 dies out in the future as well.
lan60000
yea it'll be short-lived, and people should tailor their expectations around that fact. this type of game has been played out too much in a kmmorpg
lan60000
i can give you a bit of forecast on what's to come down the line with Aion, or KMMORPG's in general:
you'll reach a dead zone where players that are ahead continue to stay ahead and accelerate their growth further by capitalizing on higher grade materials to either sell or improve their stats further. Meanwhile, newer players will reach population scarcity because there will be far less players around their gear score to run content with, isolating them from progressing and demotivating them to even continue playing considering they haven't put much commitment into the game. You'll be stuck in the middle between these two populations with others who proclaim to "take their time" with the game, only to quit immediately once they realized the inconvenience is simply not worth playing for.
the gatekeeping will become more severe, with even more strict requirements with anything that resembles your combat power. people asking for a specific combat power will be the least of your problems as titles, achievements, and horizontal progression become the new set standard as the game goes on
population will shrink, so the chances of you successfully pugging eventually diminishes as people will either form set statics or create guilds to track who's eligible for content. anyone that's behind will likely be left in the dust. You will run out of people to run content with, as is an inevitability with these type of games. People have no incentive to babysit you in the end
Unlike gacha games like wuthering waves or zzz for that matter, a lot of your progression is ultimately still tied through partying up with others, except the game is designed to pit one against another as they all clamour to be as efficient as possible, especially with a stamina system being implemented. You're better off just playing wuwa if you want to play Aion casually, as the only thing left waiting is disappointment in the end.
lan60000
league is nothing compared to this type of degeneracy
lan60000
- Catch-up mechanics always win: After grinding myself to the bone in T&L, you realize that free-to-play or casual players inevitably catch up to hyper-hardcore or paying players within three weeks to a month and a half anyway.
this only happens when the company realizes the game isn't doing well revenue wise.
- Developer retention strategies: Studios desperately need to sustain a critical mass of active players. To prevent a dead game, they will always give away or streamline the exact progression systems that early players paid for or ground endlessly to achieve.
this doesn't solve why the game is dying or dead
- Zero stress gaming: There is no need to stay glued to the screen 24/7, stress over Reddit min-max posts, or ruin the experience by strictly following optimal guides.
this goes completely against KMMORPG philosophy when it is designed to make you rush with FOMO, or scheduled events wouldn't even exist
Aion 2 is a PvE-focused game where the real fun comes from discovering the world at your own pace. Going slow and avoiding self-imposed FOMO makes the entire experience infinitely more rewarding.
this is pure bullshit. if anything, the PVE has been severely lacking considering we're made to spam a few dungeons with just a difference in difficulty tier. Aion was made for PvP, as the whole point of the abyss is to force PvP upon you or suffer.
To anyone jumping in after getting burned out by hardcore MMOs: take it easy. The journey is much better enjoyed at a steady pace.
Love how everybody says this whenever they try to defend or sell a game to others. This doesn't solve the problems Aion has, and only solve the fact a lot of you simply don't want others to quit so the game you enjoy doesn't feel even more lifeless than before.
Has anyone else noticed a similar mindset shift moving between these games? Would love to hear your thoughts below.
these games aren't meant to be taken seriously, and placing faith in it to meet your expectations will likely end in disappointment. You can argue the game is fun to a certain degree even despite all the flaws that it has, but I can assure you even the player base that these games attract are a significant reason why the experience fucking sucks as well. It'll never be a game I recommend for others to try since it operates no differently from other KMMORPGs they've played.
lan60000
Sounds like you haven't played any poe or ARPG ever.
if anything, I've played too much of it. Those games don't fuck with you on a consistent basis in your search to theorycraft for fun builds to play around, and even the end game grind wouldn't force you to keep tabs on every minute activity going on just so you can earn some pittance of resources just to feed your character.
You speak about challenge but 100% you're one of the people permanently using res stones while being at the bottom dps in dungeons. Doubt you even reached the ilvl for fire temple and up.
don't project. it's sad. not my fault people like you actually think Aion is designed to be difficult when the devs have mobile users in mind. Swiping and doing monotonous chores don't make you a better player, even if you desperately want it to.
Not really sure how wow raids are challenging when 99% of the time you just listen to what the addon tells you to do. And M+ is the biggest joke possible.
don't flaunt your ignorance if you don't know what you're talking about then.
You preach wow forever constantly when classic is even more braindead than aion 2
except that game was meant to experience what classic MMORPGs were about instead of a literal cash grab like Aion 2 genius.
lan60000
a lot of things should be account based, but the design is to make you pay more
lan60000
What's the purpose to the grind in WoW lmao? To have your progress completely wiped by the next season or xpac?
the purpose is to challenge high-tier content within each patch cycle through raids, pvp, or m+ that are more about your skill than how geared you are. you're not meant to grind to infinite because the grind itself is never meant to be your endgame unlike most KMMORPGs.
What a roundabout way to complain about having to play the game.
because the way these games are designed are meant to push people into monetization purchases genius. every little chore you do is either locked behind a currency to access them just to see how far people can take before they try to accelerate their progression with real money.
In KMMOs you don't grind to beat X, you grind to beat X faster and more efficient. That's where the satisfaction comes.
that's some of the saddest shit I've read in a long time. you just made grinding for gear even more pointless than before if your goal is to do the content quicker without any new challenges required for said gear. Not even games like PoE2 or D4 develop this type of drone mentality as severely as KMMORPGs, and you people actually relish in being treated like a bot.
Even this game if you'd play casually you'd go through the same loop as in WoW. Reaching ilvl thresholds for dungeons is a breeze and the extra grind is just there if you want to min max your character
You act as if the game state will be the same whilst you take triple the amount of time to progress than everybody else, and fully expect others to not move on towards another game when they've explored all Aion has to offer.
lan60000
luckily in retail wow, there is a purpose and an end to the grind in which KMMORPG's often don't let you see the light at the end of the tunnel. When you can actually hit a certain gearscore to fully tackle the hardest content in wow without expending most of your time and effort dealing with multiple different avenues of bullshit that's purposely designed to hinder you, that is what progression should be about.
lan60000
If you want a more complete MMORPG experience, WoW Forever will likely give you that.
If you want dopamine rushes with modern graphics, Aion 2 is built to do that.
Between which MMORPG actually treats you more like a player, it's gonna be WoW considering that version of the game is meant to not shove monetization down your throat at every turn like Aion is.
In terms of longevity, expecting a KMMORPG to not flop on its head is beyond naive so this is a no-brainer.
In terms of combat feel, Aion will make your character feel strong granted you know how to play around mechanics.
Overall, Aion 2 is more like playing Wuthering Waves but multiplayer, and WoW Forever is more like playing Runescape but more interactive.
lan60000
this is hilariously ironic considering the game you're playing
something tells me the bracelets would be heavily sought out, but what do I know
