It's a shame that thread got brigaded.
phpMyPython
Yeah but that 60% doesn't matter as much to the public as 20 children under the age of 10. Just because both involve guns doesn't make them all the same. These are two separate issues that both need to be dealt with.

If we've learned anything from the intervention of the FED in 2008 it's that QE doesn't lead to measurable inflation. Also doesn't seem to be happening now either (although its a bit too soon to know for sure until we're on the other side). I agree that's traditional economic wisdom but it doesn't seem to hold true today and it's not the only economic norm that appears to have changed recently.
We used to believe that full employment in the US was around 5% but before covid-19 we were at 3.5% and had only just begun to see pressure on wages for lower income Americans.
My main point here is that this stuff isn't as simple as you seem to think it is, it's not a recipe where the same ingredients always get the same result.

Polish Calvary were equipped with anti tank rifles that the German tanks at that point in the war were susceptible to though. In my opinion that's part of why it's such an interesting period of history, because of how new and old clashed in unexpected ways.
phpMyPython
That's a relief.

Tobias is the driving force behind the bands image and the whole papa and cardinal stuff but he isn't the lyricist for the band. I absolutely agree that ghost has done more for Satanism than any other band but it's not just Tobias.
phpMyPython
Ghost for sure isn't black metal but they're absolutely Satanic. Black metal doesn't own satanic music. I've seen some people in this thread bring up Tobias and say that because he hasn't said he's a Satanist they aren't satanic but Tobias doesn't even write the songs for the band, he said it himself in an interview with Loudwire. Since the identities of the other current band mates isnt known then there's only speculation as to the beliefs of the lyricist behind Ghost.
Breaking down their lyrics makes it clear to me that they're unapologetically satanic. I think the idea of taking songs about Satan and wrapping them in a mainstream pop sound is brilliant I just wish they weren't as veiled in their message and were more in your face.
I would love to hear a band that is melodically like Ghost but lyrically more like Behemoth.
phpMyPython
You say that as if there was a way to prevent it but there wasn't. No matter what we would end up here.

Your account being one day old with that many comments is a bit suspicious. Also a ton of negative karma comments so it looks like you're a dick everywhere not just here.
phpMyPython
Poor kid.
phpMyPython
Yeah that's what I did. I appreciate the design. It's exactly what I was looking for.
phpMyPython
This is awesome! I love the single wide variant you made as well. One thing missing is a combo of the outers in a single so that you can merge a double-wide path onto a single wide one.

My g10 has been flawless for over 2 years. Not one issue with latency or with the build quality.

Should be the tagline of this sub.

I would love if you would share the codes for those designs.

Although the USD is the official reserve currency it doesn't mean that its automatically what all foreign banks hold in their reserves.
Currently, more than 61% of all foreign bank reserves are denominated in U.S. dollars, according to the (IMF). Many of the reserves are in cash or U.S bonds such as U.S. Treasuries. Also, approximately 40% of the world's debt is denominated in dollars.
It is true though that our role as the world reserve currency has been diminishing but not because of debt.
The reserve status is based largely on the size and strength of the U.S. economy and the dominance of the U.S. financial markets. Despite large deficit spending, trillions of dollars in foreign debt, and the unbridled printing of U.S. dollars, U.S. Treasury securities remain the safest store of money. The trust and confidence that the world has in the ability of the United States to pay its debts have kept the dollar as the most redeemable currency for facilitating world commerce.
That being said, in 2001 the USD made up around 73% of foreign bank reserves so a drop to around 60% currently can't be ignored.
The reason for this decline isn't anything to do with our debt, it's because of US policy and is a self inflicted wound.
The most obvious U.S. policy contributions to a diminished role for the dollar are from economic sanctions and protectionist trade initiatives. All else equal, protectionist policies divert trade away from the U.S., and may induce new trade partners to settle in currencies other than the dollar.
Sanctions do the same, and since they may effectively preclude dollar settlement, the implications for the dollar are more acute. In addition to the Treasury Department's list of 6,300 Specially Designated Nationals and more than 20 countries against which some type of sanctions are in place, the extraterritoriality of certain sanctions to affect persons and entities in other jurisdictions extends their reach further.
At the same time, beyond some marginal adjustments, global central bank reserve management practices – the ultimate consideration in bestowing reserve currency status – are still centered on the dollar. Paradoxically, the most powerful forces acting to diminish the dollar's global role are US initiatives to penalize foreign transgressions of American policies and priorities.
So long as U.S. Treasury securities remain the safest store of money and the US continues to pay it's debts I don't think there's cause for alarm. The debt might seem huge but the US also has massive GDP. To put it in context, the CARES Act was $2.2 trillion which is roughly 5 weeks of America's GDP. Put simply no one is really worried about us paying our debts here.
Edit: keep in mind that none of the data above reflects how things might change after this pandemic.
If you want to read up more on what it would take for our currency to collapse then this is a good article.
phpMyPython
That's just one of many reasons why it isn't much of a concern. Unless you're worried that the USA is going to have a complete societal collapse sometime soon then I wouldn't be concerned about it and if that happens I think our debt is the least of concerns.
phpMyPython
I get the point you're trying to make because it used to be something I thought as well. The more you really dig into the details of how the system works the more you'll realize that it's not that simple.
Just digging into the logistics of how the government is getting the trillions needed for the CARES Act is fascinating.
The only real risk is the risk of inflation through the feds quanatative easing and even that risk isn't as high a conventional economic wisdom teaches us. In 2008 when the fed last implemented QE there was no noticable uptick in inflation. So long as that is in check the economy here is solid and the fed has the power to control whatever "whims of the bond market" happen to come up and so long as we're the world reserve currency I don't think we have much to worry about when it comes to foreign currency fluctuations. It affects other countries much more than us since the USD is the main currency all others a pegged to.

You get codes by uploading the design using a kiosk in the Able Sisters shop. Once you get a code I would love if you would share it.

May I come? I need peaches.
