I use AI to make starters, and to better organize my thoughts into SLOs that make sense. I won’t always use what I get from AI, just kind of use it as a jumping off point. But hey, use all your tools you have at your disposal, right?

We get an allotment every year in my district. My first year as an actual contracted teacher was last year, but I have been with my district since 2018 as a guest teacher.

I had some stuff, but not nearly enough to decorate my classroom and have it feel like a safe and inviting space conducive to learning. Sooooo, whatever I couldn’t get for free from people I know or free on Facebook, I had to buy out of my own pocket. Didn’t see that allotment until late October, couldn’t reimburse myself so I bought more classroom supplies with it of course.

So yeah, sterile room or a room with some color and borders, etc. for a little bit of my own money? Why not?

Can I file a grievance against this? I feel like I need to.

I’ll lecture while sitting next to the problematic one. Can’t be quiet while I’m circulating the classroom, then I’ll just hang out next to you.

Okay that was fun. I’m sitting there on the first base side saying “why would you bring in another infielder? We don’t play small ball!”

18 year old senior refused to present their short story they wrote. Told me “we need to talk about this grade. You should be giving me an A because it’s what I deserve.” I’m like uh, girl no. You don’t get excused when everyone else did their presentation, and then get a passing grade for it.

I made a most generous accommodation, allowing her to do a voice over, video, etc. whatever she was comfortable with. She turned it in 9pm last night, and then sent me an email demanding I grade it. At 9PM on a Saturday….43 days late.

I think I’ll grade it next Friday. Oh well.

And apparently two separate boxes of live crawfish for a crawfish boil.
