I would’ve went through PE. They would’ve got you fixed up, no problem.
I have found ANS is good until they're not, and when it goes bad, it goes very bad. Why not get them to replace the marker instead of a return? I say that because exchanges are different in they don't charge a restock fee. They may have been more willing to do that. Yeah they sent you a bad one but now you're having to fight this and try to not owe the money. I get thinking it might be an issue down the road, but PE is fantastic about standing behind their markers. I doubt you would have many more issues unless it was a custom annodized model. In that case it could be ongoing.
I don't know what BreadPay really is (bank, financing ect...), but PayPal or a credit card would have offered more protection on your behalf. Sucks you have to go through this. I would also offer up going to the Better Business Bureau. They have been surprisingly effective for me when I have had issues and the company refused to honor their end of a commitment. I've had big companies (bigger than ANS) reach out to me at a VP level person and fix the situation. Whatever they threaten, companies don't want to have it go against them. Good luck!
I came here to say this too: this is exactly why you use a good credit card. Amex would have dealt with this in your favor without any headaches.
I get the feeling credit is an issue here, hence the payment method.

BBB is a private company that cannot actually do anything besides leave a bad review (that the company can pay to have removed). Look into the California Attorney Generals office if you actually want something done.
You have money for legal counsel but needed a loan for a shootyball gun?
What was wrong with the gun?

Try to get into contact with Tim firpo ,paintballtek on here. He’s an official PE tech and he’s helped me out a bunch when others couldn’t. He’s kind of a bitch to get a hold of sometimes but he’s the man.
so let me understand this you bought an old gun from old stock they had. You received it and it doesn't work correctly they offered to look at and and more then likely fix it for free. all you had to do was ship it back. like 60 bucks And since you don't have money to pay the shipping fee you wanted to come on here and let loose some feelings? How much are you out of pocket? What's your interest rate on a paintball gun?
Is the battery a RAYCO battery?
You filed a dispute, and they cut contact. That is standard practice, unless you’re that twat from Oregon PB (long story, but fuck that guy). You should have contacted ANS, said hey this is what’s wrong, can I exchange it, or can you help in some way.
Bread Pay won’t side with you because the item you purchased was delivered. That’s all they care about. They aren’t going to dig into the nitty gritty stuff. If it had been PayPal Credit, you could have filed as “item defective” and possibly gotten your money back after shipping the marker back to ANS. There is still the chance they’d side with ANS if they cried fraud, which realistically is pretty rampant.
Contact PE and send it to them. That’s your only option.
tl;dr - you jumped the gun and filed a dispute. Now you’re stuck with it. Send it to PE.
This is exactly correct. Disputes are for fraudulent transactions only; not an intimidation tactic when you don’t get your way. Breadpay is 100% correct in their resolution because they weren’t charged fraudulently.
ANS is going to let the dispute process play out since you went that route. Good learning opportunity for OP.

You would have been out maybe $20 and had a repaired marker. Shipping from them to me on my Shocker Era was less than that, and I’m on the complete opposite coast.
They would have fixed it and sent it back. An extra $20 or less on an already heavily discounted marker shouldn’t matter. They also have no idea if you caused the issue, or if something happened in shipping. Filing a dispute was the final nail in your coffin.
You made an irrational decision based off your emotion at the time, and now you’re stuck.
Send it to PE. I’m not trying to defend ANS, I’m just looking at this from a logical business related viewpoint.
you should have paid the shipping to have it fixed. I just wasted more time on reading all of these details that you left out from your main opener... They offered you a solution you can't afford it to ship it back for a more then likely free repair... that's insane..My advise for you is to get your life and income together. if you can't afford 60 bucks to ship... You have bigger problems then ANS does.
Hmm unfortunate to hear, I maybe have just had good luck with them but have had pretty good experiences with ANS customer support in the past
-Using a loan service called "Bread Pay"
-Taking out a note on a paintball gun
-I'm gonna sue because I used the gun, and instead of trying to work with ANS, I filed a dispute, and I'm shocked they cut me off.
That is wilddddddd work for trying to be the victim.
Yeah reading your story and replies to people trying to help, you’re a certified Moron. Financing a 5 year old marker seriously?? I can only imagine the attitude you had when you were talking to them.
There are only so many things that can go wrong with a modern marker and most can be fixed very easily, you seem to want a return regardless of an easy fix, hence the restocking fee. If I had to guess, you have a pinched battery wire.
8/10 customers that come in and claim we sold them a broken marker have damaged it themselves taking it apart. Let us know what your “legal counsel” says lmfao.
Bruh don’t make me take ANSgear’s side
You bought a 6 year old marker for 40% off, and the manufacturer’s warranty is still good.
They even offered to check out the marker if you paid the ~$15 to send it to them.
Either you want the marker and get PE to fix it, or you don’t want the marker and ans charges 15% to restock.
Using credit of any kind to buy new paintball guns is a choice, but Breadpay is a lowpass filter for the financially inexperienced.
I agree with you 10000 percent. I've seen brand new real firearms get sold and have issues. most of the time the buyer has to pay shipping unless the manufacturer has it noted. 1000 standard practice.
Imagine riding this hard for a retailer's return policy. 'Pay $15 to ship back the broken stuff we sold you so we can "fix" it or pay us 15% to take it back' isn't support, it's BS lol.
But hey, side with ANS Gear, I'm sure they'll send you a sticker.
Yeah, I don’t care how old or discounted it is. Unless it was advertised as broken, they should be taking care of this. At the very least, exchanging it for a working one. Not really a discount if you have to spent time and money to get it working.
Yeah, and I wouldn't have minded a repair, if I didn't have to pay to have it repaired.. lol
I just don’t understand the issue. Get PE to fix the gun and get on with your life.
It sounds more like you realized you’re financially overextended and really needed to get that loan cancelled, which I get is tough.
Nah, I can pay my bills. I just don't like lemons, I've had bad experiences in the past where I didn't act when I could and was left with an item that didnt work because I trusted a fix.
Nowadays, I err on the side of caution and if something has an issue that early, I take it as an omen for what is to come.
But I still don’t get it. Just get PE to fix the marker like an adult lol.
“I err on the side of caution” my brother in christ you are buying obsolete paintball markers on credit, you just err
“I err on the side of caution” my brother in christ you are buying obsolete paintball markers on credit, you just err
Welp, competition is over. Quote of the week has been awarded🤣
I appreciate your opinion, although we do not see eye to eye on this. Have a good day
Lol. You are funny OP.
"WOE IS ME! I BOUGHT A PAINTBALL GUN AND IT DOESNT WORK AND I DONT WANT TO TRY TO REACH OUT TO THE PEOPLE WHO WILL FIX IT FOR FREE BECAUSE.....?"
I bet I know what your problem is; I've fixed it before on multiple brands and takes less than 5 seconds with no tools. If you take a step back, maybe you can learn a thing or two from this experience.
While I think ANS should be handling this for you. The paintball industry seems to get away with selling broken shit all the time (looks at my $1650 cyborg X paperweight) at least, planet eclipse is the best in the game with support (for anything using their newer solenoids at least) so they should take care of you.
So many people talk about how they've been ordering from ANS for years and never had a problem and that the issues are overblown...
Yes. A vast majority of orders will go off without a hitch.
It's the service when you actually do have a problem that creates the issue.
In general, nobody needs to risk using ANS. I've had so many interactions with other online sellers where they've gone above and beyond, not even fixing issues, just ensuring I was happy with my purchase...
Use your local field store if you can. Then go to your nearest online shop with a good reputation. The only time you should be using ANS should be if they are the only store with the item in stock, and then ask yourself "Do I really need this thing?".
And email to verify that the item is in stock before you place your order. I've had multiple items they had listed as "in stock" turn out to be out of stock. Even one of their ebay listings wasn't in stock after I purchased it.
When it comes to medium large purchases like this I would never do any sort of payment plan unless it is to someone I personally know and I’m buying off of my friend and paying like half now and half when I next get paid. ANS has not been terrible to me yet, but I have had issues where it takes weeks to ship out what I ordered. I never buy markers it’s always mask parts or grease or some knickknack I can’t find anywhere else. ANS is always a buyer beware site
Was this a factory colorway or an ansgear part swapped gun? If so, I wonder if they damaged it during the swap. Not hard to pinch a wire somewhere and short the board out
Long live 888 paintball
Anus gear🤡
I've had 0 issues with ANS, multiple orders including returns. I'm sorry you are.
ANS offered 2 solutions. ship back for repair and diagnostic. which may have been free more then likely. or return for a restock fee. The buyer can't afford either one.
[deleted]
So they wont allow you to ship back for assessment and repair?
Ans call center has helped me a few times. They always help out. I’m surprised
Honestly that marker has probably sat for a while. It isnt by any stretch a "new" marker. I agree, ANS should of done better. A big thing to think about tho is its been opened. Its been tried its no longer BNIB. If they try to sell it now they lose a ton of money. Reading the comments it seems like there could be a loose connection or a issue with the battery connecters. ANS has a massive selection of stuff and is kinda like the walmart of paintball. You can continue to pursue this, you might be wasting time and lets be real your time is more valuable than ANSgears. Id reccomend reaching out to planet eclipse. Luckily you bought a PE and their customer service is absolutely S-Tier. I wouldnt worry about the longevity, if they fix it up itll be golden. The 1.6 is a money marker and in my opinion better than the LV2 (just opinion ive owned both, LV2 guys dont kill me plz). If you reach out to planet, they diagnose it with a more serious problem like a faulty board id be going back after ANS but my moneys on P.E warrenty working your marker and getting you fixed up. Hopefully this helps. Probably didnt but i tried😂 best of luck my friend
LOL @ lv2 vs lv 1.6 They're both good it just depends on the ergo preference lol
Ya thats what i was trying to get at but words are hard😂 ones not "better" i just like one better lmao
haha totally xD
If I go buy an iPhone on contract with AT&T and it’s randomly turns off, AT&T is going to charge you a restocking fee as well if you want to return it or even exchange it. The merchant isn’t responsible for defective product, that’s why you have manufacturer warranties. Which is the avenue you should have taken, or at least the option of them fixing it. Just because the some of the big box stores will take a return without a restocking fee, doesn’t mean ANS is in the wrong for requiring one. Legal counsel and possibly suits going to waste A LOT more time than sending it in to PE or ANS.
You’re making a mountain out of a mole hill. Life’s short, be happy, send it in to literally anyone and go play some paintball.
An ansgear problem is what fueled me to start HR Tactical for the Magfed guys and now I’m supporting all types of paintball and other shooting sports.
I’m curious what’s wrong with the gun out the box
Is Lone wolf better then ANS? What’s the best options these days?
God I miss CountyPaintball (any OGs remember?)
Both are good as long as you aren't a moron.
How does being a moron work here? This makes no sense.
It makes perfect sense, as in the OP's case instead of acting like a child he could've sent the gun back for 10-15 dollars and it would've been fixed. Instead, he'd rather make a huge deal over it and cry on reddit.
Why in the world did you buy a brand new 6 year old gun?
Hey now, I purchased a brand new DP Fusion Elite a few months ago
And I just bought a brand new Phantom a few months ago, which have been in production for around 40 years. Old shit is cool. If it works, and makes you happy, that's all that matters.
It has a one year warranty still, dude is crying about nothing
I just bought one works great.
ANS is owned by a real estate investor and it's just a money maker for him. He has no love for the sport/shop. I buy online even though they are local to me, one time they sent a case of obviously very old paint then blamed it on FedEx and took insurance on it. They are great 90% of the time and very shady on the rest.
Ha ha ha. You are very disconnected. Pete has been a friend and great ambassador to paintball for a long time.
He does have his fanbois.
For what its worth, received a wrong barrel from ANSGear (Deadlywinds Freak instead of Freak XL).
They didnt have stock of the correct item so asked if i wanted a refund. When i received the refund email i also had a 15% restocking fee on it, so i called their customer service line and the guy explaoned thats just the way their CRM system is set up and confirmed that once they receive it and issue the refund, the restocking fee will disappear and ill get the full amount, which is exactly what happened.
Bought a dye rize czr from them and the barrel back had faulty threading. When I wrote them about it they accused me of breaking the barrel somehow... Didn't want to help me at all till I mentioned disputing the transaction. Dye themselves ended up sending me another barrel back and some goodies.
It's not a gamble to get it fixed. Just have PE help you. Those guns are tanks. They don't break
It’s probably just a wiring issue something that technically would be covered by PE. You are jumping through so many hoops when you could pay $20 to get it fixed.
Idk man a 6 years old market that has been sitting on a shelf although new those rings don’t get lubricated they dry up
Basically, from what I gathered from this thread:
You purchased a marker that you couldn’t afford outright and had to finance. The marker turned out to have a factory issue, despite being a 5+ year-old marker that was already heavily discounted. From what I understand, the issue was relatively minor and intermittent, and ANS even offered to take care of it in-house for you.
At that point, it seems like there was an opportunity to work with them to get the issue resolved, potentially within a week, but that option wasn’t pursued. On top of that, it seems like there may be more to the email exchange than what’s being presented here. I’d honestly be curious to see the entire email thread before making a judgment.
Personally, if I made a post like this and saw the amount of feedback this one has received, I probably would’ve taken it down by now. 😂
I know ANS isn’t perfect, and sure, sometimes you might have to call them to check whether something is actually in stock. But at the end of the day, they’ve done a lot to help grow the paintball community and make equipment more accessible.
Just seems like this situation could’ve been handled a lot differently on your end
Can't believe ANS Gear is still around. I bought from them back in 2007
Ans has always been good to me I ordered a cs3pro they sent the wrong one I emailed them and their customer service guy called me like 20 minutes later and said they screwed up cause the one I ordered wasn’t on the correct shelf so they sent me a return label and sent me the correct marker and told me to just send the other one back zero hassle and they overnighted the one I was supposed to get in the first place
Ahh, classic ansgear behavior. I thought they've moved on from that once they single handedly gutted most major paintball retailers nationwide from dumping practices and absorbed their inventory
Why are you taking out loans on paintball guns bro

Never heard of bread pay, this comment probably explains why... a few new Financial companies have sprung up in the past 5 years or so, all of which (imo) prey on the financially illiterate, while putting a bunch of money into advertising... here's a tip from an old guy, if you keep seeing the same ad, that's most likely a company you should avoid. Certain companies go all in on Advertising, which cost a lot of money for them. That's money they could be using to provide the consumer a better service to the consumer, but instead they are essentially trying to trick people into using their service which, in most cases will do the opposite of providing good service.

It’s like PayPal Credit and Klarna. High interest rate and long payment terms.
I’ve used PayPal Credit a couple times because of their buyer protections. I pay it off immediately though. I learned the hard way to not use any sort of card for online transactions. Luckily I didn’t lose any money since it was a credit card anyway.
