Brass doorknob glow-up!
We only had three of these left in our house, all with about 70 years of tarnish. I just started my maternity leave a few days ago and, while waiting on little one to make an appearance, decided to work on these since it was mostly a sitting-down project. It took me 2 days. Products: Brasso metal cleaner/polisher and The Pink Stuff (gentle abrasive paste). I would recommend against doing this unless you really have time on your hands, or unless you have access to a pregnant nesting woman!

I've heard people have good results with putting painted items in a crockpot overnight with soapy water. That might save you some elbow grease if you have to do the rest of them.
