My touchscreen won’t work and there seems be a gap between the screen and the frame.
I’ve added pictures of my ds without a working touchscreen and my other ds which has Pokémon black and works perfect fine

The gap isn’t the issue, all DSs have that. If the touch screen doesn’t work, then you need to replace the digitizer. They cost like, 8 dollars and all you need is a try-wing screwdriver and some patience.

My second ds doesn’t have the gap and it works perfectly fine

Even if you just wanted to fix the gap, you would still have to open up the Ds and at that point you might as well replace the digitizer

I just replaced one that was scratched up. You’ll have to open it up to know for sure but there is a rather small ribbon cable that goes to the motherboard. The digitizer uses this small ribbon cable and it is basically glued to the screen right below it. Oh and there is a small plastic ring glued onto the digitizer. Save it and re-glue it on your new digitizer or the screen lite will bleed through. I used Aleene’s Clear Gel Tacky Glue to glue mine back on.
If you want to fix it yourself I’d watch a YouTube video of someone disassembling one of your specific model. They usually point out the parts to be careful.
