Thought it might be a Russula, but stem doesn't snap like chalk

At first I thought this might be a Russula - but the stem feels soft in the middle, doesn't snap like chalk. Any ideas? Found in woodland in south east England,UK.

Definitely looks like a Russula, the flaking gills are very telling. Perhaps R. grisea?

Thanks! Out of interest, what makes you say it's R. grisea vs something like R. parazurea? (I know the taste test might be able to tell me, but I'm nowhere near confident enough for that yet!)

Could be R. parazurea, especially if the cap is slightly chalky/powdery. In general, Russulas are difficult to identify with any degree of certainty 😅

I’d still say it looks like Russula

Sorry, my phone camera isn't the best. There's no green tinge in real life that I can see.
