red dead really does nail that cinematic look, especially with the lighting in these shots where you can almost feel the heat coming off the landscape in that first one. i spent way too much time just standing around taking screenshots instead of actually progressing the story because every time i turned a corner there was another angle that looked like it belonged in a western film, which is both amazing and terrible for my playtime because my backlog is already suffering enough without me getting distracted by virtual photography. the attention to detail in the character models and weathering on the gear is what gets me though, like you can see the actual texture and wear on everything instead of it looking plasticky, and that makes the whole world feel lived in rather than just a pretty backdrop.
