Working people in Texas and Oklahoma, I took a spontaneous day trip on Wednesday. Traffic was horrible at about 10:00am. Why were you out driving around instead of being "In the office"?

Knowing that not all people work office jobs I was still surprised to see bumper to bumper traffic on a Wednesday at 10:00am when I thought most people were working. So where were you headed when you were out driving around at 10:00am this morning instead of "being in the office"?

Are you kidding? Texas (namely the DFW area) is notoriously bad for traffic. A lot of people do not have 9-5 desk jobs. Many people are on the road working.

I know, I just wanted to see where you were headed if you were out and about.

I used to live there, but if it was 10am, Lunch maybe? I used to start my days at 6am.

haha I grew up in houston and it pretty much takes from 7 to 10 just to get into the city so the people on the road after are just the people that got a later start.

Dallas has horrible traffic too, I just wanted to know where people were headed. I mean a million people out driving around. Could they all being going for a gallon of milk at the same time? lol

to be honest it is the same everywhere. boston, new york, chicago are all te same as houston and dallas the big difference is that EVERONE in texas drives because there is no reliable public transportation. also everyone is so spread out across a wider area and all emerge on te same area for 8-12 hours before scattering out again. its weird yeah but theres few places i'd rather be than texas

Yeah, I don't mind Texas so much, but I hate the traffic. So that is why I was asking. Just curious where everyone was headed at that time. I know jobs vary.. like I said in another reply... just wondering if a million people were all going to buy a gallon of milk at the same time. :)

There's so much construction in Dallas right now. That can't help the traffic at all.

The complete lack of efficient infrastructure doesn't help, also many jobs in Ok are Oilfield/wind turbine sort of jobs that can keep odd hours.

True.. just curious where people were driving to.
