Sydney shooters, I've done some looking around in the past and found that HPGS is generally a good bet for decent price ammo.

I'll be in the area today on short notice and wonder if you all have found that this is still the case? My choice is .243 Remington 80 grain.

I've bought stuff from HPGS for years. Yes they are very good value but the price of ammo etc has gone up something stupid. I bought primers from them a year or so ago and I perused their website last night and the same primers are double.

The main issue nowadays is supply. A lot of shops just can't get anything in so you have to buy it when you see it.

I hear the same with primers. Must just be a very hoardable item

I've asked about 10 members of my pistol club how many primers they have to keep them going through the next few years, the lowest was 30,000 and the highest 70,000.

The primer shortage has been anticipated for nearly 2 years since fast powders became hard to find so everyone has had plenty of time to get some stocks in.

I feel for those new to reloading, it's not going to be easy for a few years and pricing will be stupidly high when limited stocks return, it's only the pending explosion in factory ammo pricing that will keep reloading viable.

I've bought my reloading supplies from HPGS for years and they are always great on pricing and service is very friendly.

As others have mentioned, prices have gone through the roof lately but this is everywhere 🤷‍♂️

Good luck & shoot straight 👍

Also check with Safari at Bexley. They are competitive also. But as above ammo shortage means prices went up and continue to go up.

Best price is always buying a carton. I used to buy 223 by the thousand

You should probably buy as much as you can.

While the prices are high? Lucky they dont contain semiconductors, do you expect the price wont return to normal?

There is a powder shortage world wide. And soon a primer shortage. So.. up to you mate. I use 22lr so I'm buying a brick every now and then to make sure I have spares

Prices on gun stuff pretty much never seem to come down. Even when supplies return to normal (maybe 2023-2024 at this rate) you can bet there'll be a litany of reasons why the reduced prices won't get passed on to the end purchaser.

Spewing I'll have to jump on the fomo bandwagon
