That's amazing diversity in character selection. Usually these games have one team or at least one character that completely dominates top 8. but only 4 is pretty good.

I was watching zombie and he said one of the main reasons robot is really good right now is because this patch brought back robot’s ability to boost dash after his dive kick

They did! In the next-to-latest patch, they gave him some nerfs and buffs. And in the latest patch, they got rid of a bug so he could boost dash cancel his dive kick on block.

I mean. It looks like the game still has the same problem to me....

All the grounded characters save for rex struggle, while all the characters with flight/viltrumite movement are still far and away the best.

And its not like the 3 teams that did run grounded characters didnt also run an extremely strong shell for them

maybe you're a little bit worse off for having a more grounded team, but it seems like it's only a mild hindrance? like the gap between high and low tier characters in the current state of the game is not very large

Its not a bit worse off. Its a huge disadvantage to lack air mobility in this game. Im not saying you CANT succeed with these characters, but its clear youre fighting an uphill battle, more reliant on your team composition to get the job done, rather than that individual character being enough.

Idk man I think the non flyers are too linear in a game with so many flyers/airdashers

Foxy was at CB with Kate on point and Rex/Eve as assists; yes those characters are strong, but he was doing basic neutral looking for any hit that gave him consistent vortexes into kills. Maybe it’s not completely top tier, but he was getting rounds off in like 30 seconds

Thats what im saying though, if Kate doesnt have 2 of the best assists in the game she is extremely hard to play.

Hell, even with those assists he spent most of his time super jumping and fishing with down H trying to chase them down or sneak an overhead.

Kate should have air mobility anyway. Just spawn a clone and jump off it.

My primary point is that if youre playing someone like Kate, titan, monster girl, etc, you are going to spend most of the game chasing the airdashers

Having an air dash against a character who doesn’t is a pretty sizable advantage on its own. Makes avoiding ranged attacks wayyyy easier in particular
