Killer Queen - Getting started, resources, and finding/building a community near you

I've gotten some feedback from newer players, and a common theme was lack of information about the game itself. Hopefully this post/thread will help anyone looking for basic info on the game.

Find a scene near you - Since KQ cannot be played at-home/online, it is a very community-oriented game. Below are the Facebook Group links to the current active scenes in a rough chronological order.

Other locations exist, but other locations do not have FB groups. If you are trying to build a scene in your area, please reach out to us or post here. The KQ community is super supportive of new scenes.

Map view of locations

Join us on Slack - The competitive community is very active on Slack. We'll answer any questions we can. It is invite-only, so ask someone in your community to add you in person- or DM any active Facebook group member.

How to play? Below are links to various tutorials written by KQ players.

Other useful/interesting resources:

edit 1/30/2017: Dallas, TX recently received a set of KQ cabinets and has a FB group. Added to list.

edit #2, 4/22/2017: Added slack url and map url for KQ locations.

edit #3, 9/10/2017: new cabinets in Phoenix AZ, Madison WI, Columbus OH

edit #4, 1/18/2018: added link to reddit post "How to Stream?"

edit #5, 1/31/2018: fixed Knoxville group link

Edit #6, removed crash sheets as they were linked to phishing site

SoBrisk, I'm in Cinci as well! I've played in Columbus, DC, Charlotte, and Vegas; Would love to see a set of cabinets land here. I want to talk to owner of Arcade Legacy, seems like an appropriate environment.

Yes, the venue is super important! I think the most successful businesses to host the cabinets are arcade bars. I was lucky enough to stumble upon Brewcade in SF, but I imagine it would take some business owners extra convincing. Right now, I think the sooner the better. It seems like the cabinets have been sold in spurts. Like a bunch will pop up, and then a bunch more will pop up sometime later.

AL would be a tough sell because of location. I play in Weds Night Fight Night there and its a grip to drive. I think our best bet is 16-Bit. better located, and all games there are free-to-play. it'd be an easy sell to start a scene.

Location wise 16-Bit is ideal, really in the heart of things. As much as I would love to see one show up there, I don't think 16-Bit needs a Killer Queen Cabinet or scene, that place is already busy as hell. On a Friday or Saturday night, just the cabinet itself would be taking up a ton of space.

Isn't there another smaller Barcade/Pinball place in OTR somewhere. Also, what happened to Rusconi's around the corner. They had really the first "barcade" in the area, but I feel like they dropped the ball because the owner didn't want to invest any money on games or maintaining them.

Thanks for this. Visited Portland and ever since have been trying to get a set of Cabs here in Cincinnati. This should help.

Two things:

I don't use Facebook very often, but those 'Austin quick reference Crash Sheets' take me to a weird domain that asks me to sign into Facebook, even if I'm already signed in. Am I being paranoid (I'm not re-logging in to "Facebook" at http://lookaside.fbsbx.com) or are those links bonked?

That wiki needs some update-love, good gracious.
