Have an ultrasound to scope out bile ducts. Could be irritation in your stomach lining and not liver related. Or, your liver could be slightly inflamed (fatty liver) and you may be sleeping on your right side. I am experiencing this. Docs weren't able to find source of the discomfort. Is it sharp pain or a dull nag?

It’s a pain that it’s there ever day and doctors just say “eat better” I don’t want to have something worse and not treat it. That’s for the advice. So an ultrasound on bile duct right? And I sleep on my left side

Believe it or not eating better is indeed the best solution. I’ve had the same problem, accompanied with bloating. I began eating more greens and smaller portions of better quality food.

Yes try this. Could be gas.

Hi there! 62F with autoimmune hepatitis with cirrhosis here. I know the pain. It is not just a pain it is so annoying. I have tried: heating pads, acetominophen (just 2), laying on my left side, holding my legs just right, you name it. It started last August and it has been my constant companion since then. My hepatologist says it is the membrane around the liver that is inflamed and causing the pain.

I started taking myfortic about 6 weeks ago. The pain has decreased significantly. It is not gone, but it is much easier to tolerate.

What do your labs look like? AST? ALT?

Can you describe the pain? And is it located in the front upper abdomen area or more directly on your side or back?

The best way to describe the pain is like I did a thousand situps and my abdominal muscles are overworked. Or a stitch you get in your side from running.

Those numbers suggest something is going on. Talk to your doc. If thy brush you off, see another doc. It could be your gallbladder too
