Those numbers suggest something is going on. Talk to your doc. If thy brush you off, see another doc. It could be your gallbladder too

Biopsy is needed to diagnose autoimmune hepatitis.

When I was first diagnosed with autoimmune disorders, my doc prescribed a dog. 🐶 She said a dog will make you move on days you don’t want to.
I don’t have the constant fatigue but I do have days when I feel like I am wearing cement shoes.

Physically fit. Autoimmune hepatitis did not care. Cirrhosis is scarring of the liver. Has nothing to do with how much you can lift.

I call those days my cement shoes 👠 days. Or my space cadet helmet days ⛑️.
There is a reason it is called autoimmune fatigue. It sucks. And it comes with its own rules. I now feel I accomplished something if I can get through a shower and blow dry my hair without needing a nap afterwards.

Really nice pajamas. We spend a lot of time in bed. So nice pajamas. Maybe some nice sheets?

Eyeglass cases. They are huge.

Egg drop soup and scrambled eggs.

Yes. And I am sure I made it worse by drinking or taking a statin.

You came to the right place.
Autoimmune Hepatitis is diagnosed with a biopsy. The rheumatologist does not diagnose AIH only GI can. The rheumatologist is the autoimmune specialist, that is why they sent you there.
Positive ANA is not a diagnosis. It means you have some autoimmune activity. But there are a number of factors that trigger positive ANA including certain meds or chronic infections.
Some people test positive without ever developing a disease.

Me. I was diagnosed in 2010. I had no symptoms. High liver enzymes sent me to a GI. It was 3-3+ back then. I went into remission for 12 years. Again no symptoms. Enzymes were in range. All was great. Until it wasn’t. I was so fatigued and couldn’t function. Then came the classic signs of liver failure. I had a bunch of useless tests and finally in November the biopsy showed cirrhosis.

I use it daily. Doc saiid gummies would be better than smoking.

Thank you.

Thank you.

I have that all the time. When the liver enlarges the capsule surrounding the liver stretches and causes pain. Yours sounds like a bruise from the biopsy. Keep an eye on the puncture site.

Just for the gas alone.

Yes and yes.

I was diagnosed in my 20’s. I had a career in the alcohol business for 40+ years. I was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis in 2010. I cut out drinking. Then slowly went back to it. Cut it out completely in 2018. 2025 diagnose with cirrhosis from the AIH. My rheumatologist does NOT believe the AIH is from Lupus, but could have been a contributing factor. Currently Lupus is living in my lungs.

The biopsy should give you some answers.

My doc recommended tramadol for pain.
What about a lidocaine patch?
Embarrassed_Song_515
I knew I had cirrhosis from the biopsy. I had a CT scan of my lungs and it is the first thing the radiologist saw was the cirrhosis.

Hi. Mine is autoimmune. The irony? I have had a 40 year career in the alcohol industry. I was diagnosed with AIH in 2010. I was diagnosed in November with the biopsy and MRI confirming cirrhosis. I’m still trying to come to terms with it so give yourself some grace after 2 days.
I will say the support here is incredible. You are not alone. All of us are in this boat together. So grab a protein drink and stop in here often.
I was diagnosed at 47. I was working for a winery at the time. My doc was shocked. He really thought the biopsy would show mild fatty liver. He kept saying with my liver enzymes so high, I should have been yellow, in a hospital, with swollen body parts. I had none of that. The biopsy was conclusive for AIH.
The doc put me on pred and AZA. We monitored it and then after 5 years, the doc retired. I stopped taking everything-because I had none symptoms when I did.
Last year at 60 I went into liver failure. This time I had all of the symptoms. Now I am on myfortic and doing ok. My liver doc is one of the best in the state. He monitors everything. I have labs every six weeks and an ultrasound every 6 months.
Since it is AIH I also see a rheumatologist. My lungs have been affected, with pulmonary disease associated with the autoimmune disease.
