Quarantine has been around since forever, most subs that have videos of people dying or REALLY NSFW gore shit are quarantined so they don't reach /r/all
DARTHPLAYA 26 points · Sep 2018
Watchpeopledie is literally always on r/all tho wat?
Ricardo1701 53 points · Sep 2018
got quarantined today apparently
[deleted] 37 points · Sep 2018
good. I never understood why that was allowed on r/all.
[deleted] 34 points · Sep 2018
I understand removing ads and not putting quarantined subreddits on /r/all and popular, but I can't even search for those subreddits on the app anymore? That means I'll have to either sub to every single one of them or use google search each time? That's bullshit imo. I wish I could at least unhide the quarantined subreddits, or they could have them show up if you type in the entire name (no accidental suggestions).
Edit: notifications from comment replies in quarantined subs is broken for me too, unless it's a coincidence, I have a red "1" badge on notifications that wont go away from a reply on ice's reddit. I also cant see my comment history for comments posted on quarantined sub. Legit aids in terms of user experience imo

Have you tried going into settings and enabling the "I'm older than 18" or whatever it is setting? I dont know what you mean by NSFW but I can search and find subreddits such as gonewild and fiftyfifty in the mobile app. I'm assuming they're NSFW subs. Also r NSFW and nsfw gifs show up for me

Yes what I said is that I cant search for any other quarantined sub on my phone unless I'm subscribed to it. Atm there's no way I can open ice's sub on the app until I open my browser and subscribe to his reddit again. There is also no way I can browse any quarantined sub unless I do the same

Reddit is just trying to ban wrong-think. Reddit believes in separate but unequal communities as a means to achieve diversity and equality.

Imagine believing some dumb shit like this.

Uh oh a private website is trying to protect its ability to earn money. Guess this is Gestapo Germany x 1984 boys.
Go complain about SJWs and women somewhere else.

How does this counter my argument?
Also people are welcome to criticize reddit for doing this all they want. But don't act like its some sort of tyrannical suppression of free speech. Reddit is a private entity which exists to earn money. They are making decisions based on increasing revenue, not because they are trying to "ban wrong-think" or create "separate but unequal communities as a means to achieve diversity and equality." People are trying to extrapolate what was a monetary decision into some culture war against the SJW's they seem to think they are fighting. Retarded
Again criticize the decision as much as you want. You can even stop using reddit altogether if it upsets you enough. I'm sure reddit was aware they were going to be criticized for this move (and alienate some of their user base), but they decided it was worth it for them.

Uh oh, Communists are screaming the private company meme. They really stick it to the man and all his patriarchal heteronormative bullshit, BTW.

You are beyond saving
BrilliantInvite 1 points · Sep 2018
So you would be okay with a private website banning Jews if it protected its ability to earn money?
[deleted] 1 points · Sep 2018
Not if that website operated in the United States. And that's because religious groups are a protected class in the United States
Are Ice Poseidon fans a legally protected class?
BrilliantInvite 1 points · Sep 2018
Ah, so it's okay to discriminate on some things but not others. How convenient.
[deleted] 1 points · Sep 2018
Yes... Of course.
We discriminate for things all the time and its completely fine. Lets say I want to get my car repaired. I am going to discriminate and look for someone who is a trained car mechanic to fix it.
Did you think you were dropping some deep truth bomb or something?
Are you incapable of seeing the difference between a religious or racial group, and a group of people who are fans of a youtuber?

Almost like there's a block filter for a reason.
