R5: I just kicked in my megacorp neighbor's teeth with the intent of reducing the amount of corporate competition in the galaxy (and potentially making them a future vassal). Per the patch, "Empires that are the target of Impose Ideology wars or those created from Status Quo peace deals are no longer rival Megacorps, but instead Oligarchies with the Merchant Guilds civic." That... didn't happen. I've had things like this take a bit to update before, but I've rolled forward a couple months already. Anyone else observed something like this?
If you look in the war_goals file they did add a section to both the victory and status quo when each side is a corporate authority type to change the government like the patch notes said. It looks like it should work, not sure why it's not for you.
If you can - try testing it out on a status quo peace with only part of their empire occupied.

Yeah I assumed uplifting primitives would get the merchant guild oligarchy as well, but I just made another megacorp.

I don't think your empire influences the uplifted government's form. I get Megacorp uplifts as a regular empire.

Good to know, thanks.

I suspect that if they were already a megacorp that the system just overlooked it. That’s a shame
