They're more so museums/memorials than just "tourist sites" tbf. Preserving history and making it public for the general population to really see is important.
I recently visited the 9/11 memorial site while I was in New York, and found my dad's friend's name at one of the wells. I imagine the concentration camps feel more like that than a simple tourist attraction.
Right like if they were truly just "tourist sites", that would be immoral, but they're not.
they're more of the memorial places and museums if that makes sense? I live close to one and I think it's important that people are able to visit them and see for themselves, we had school trip there as history lesson, it is popular trust destination but it's not like it's marketed as some fun experience
people sometimes act really disrespectful while visiting of course but that's on them
better than pretending they never existed
It's important to remember the atrocities commited in these camps.
It's not like they're made into amusement parks. They're open to tourists for the sake of educating people and making sure we never forget what happened there.
Its preversing history and can be used for educational reasons
It is educating people about history
As long as it's done respectfully, I think that's a good thing. A way to teach and preserve history. Having memorials and museums there makes sense.
Yes because it's educational
Yes but it depends on how is done.
