Housekeeping

First and foremost, please do not message us about the post you just made being removed. ALL POSTS ARE ON MANUAL REVIEW. That means that posts are reviewed by a moderator before being approved or rejected. This may take up to 24 hours so please be patient.

Second, please censor all usernames and community names from screenshots and do not directly reference a community name in your posts or comments. This is enforced on us by reddit and we cannot approve any content that is uncensored.

Thirdly, please stop telling each other that they do not belong on this subreddit or that they are fake. This isn't your job and gets flagged as harassment. If you see content you feel does not fit this subreddit, report it and let moderators act on it. There has been a huge rise in this behavior and most often this sentiment is used to be hostile towards others. First offense will result in removal of the comment, second will be a ban. Stop doing this. Utilize the report button and stop interacting with that user.

Thank you.

i didn’t realize until it was too late that my post being “deleted” meant it was on review, leading me to delete and repost it, i feel so stupid sometimes 😭😭

Desertnord [OP]

No worries, this seems to be a fairly common experience and we have received quite a bit of modmail about it which is why I wanted to put out another reminder.

Long_Candle1110

There has been a huge rise in this behavior because there has been a huge rise in non-transmed people flooding this space. They are everywhere in our comment sections.

TrooperJordan

Yeah, I’ve just taken to downvoting and then reporting them if I see them. I don’t think they actually get banned, but interacting with them just keeps them coming here. And mods probably won’t put a rule about them not posting here beyond what rule 3 states

Desertnord [OP]

You won’t get a notification when someone has been banned. Sometimes it is a minor issue which is best handled by downvoting.

TrooperJordan

I don’t expect a notification if they’re banned, especially since I don’t report too often. I just don’t know if they do or not, and assumed they may not since there’s no explicit rule about them posting. The “no NB politics” rule is kinda vague to me, so I never know if I’m reporting something that’s actually “NB politics” or just something that I personally don’t think should be here but follows the rules.

Desertnord [OP]

I will see if I can find a way to better word that rule to make it more clear.

TrooperJordan

It’s definitely a me thing, I’m just someone who prefers things spelled out so I can’t misunderstand something. I’m sure most people understand it.

Desertnord [OP]

The rules have been revised, hopefully this provides a little more guidance.

Desertnord [OP]

No worries, I didn’t write the rule, it was one original to the subreddit but I think it is time to look back over this one.

Desertnord [OP]

There really hasn’t been a flood. They come in here from time to time as they always have. Just report it and we will deal with it. We are pretty liberal with the ban function.

When people are telling others that this isn’t the right space for them, they are most often doing so in a very hostile way which isn’t appropriate regardless.

What there has been a rise of is people accusing each other of being tucutes or fakes based on some subjective thing that the individual decided themselves that has no backing whatsoever with evidence.

Long_Candle1110

So are we allowed to tell people that they shouldnt be in this subreddit if we do it respectfully and kindly without being mean or hostile? (Alonside reporting them of course)

Desertnord [OP]

You can certainly say “I think there are other spaces more fitting of this opinion” or something respectful like this yes.

Maybe not so much “stop clowning, you’re clearly not supposed to be here”, “weird way of saying you’re a woman”, or “…you are a man. And you clearly should not be here”.

Long_Candle1110

I dont think stating the truth is bad or being mean? I get the "clowning" can sound disrespectful though. Sorry.

Desertnord [OP]

Telling someone that they are not transsexual (unless they are a group not defined as transsexual such as a nonbinary individual), will be considered an attempt at diagnosing. What you have said is not "stating the truth", you're giving an opinion based on subjective criteria not supported by any medical or psychiatric body.

The kind of comments you've made to others are not justified, overtly hostile, subjective, and put this subreddit at risk. I have revised the rules to make wording more clear and to better outline expectations.

Long_Candle1110

When someone doesnt want to pursue srs, they are the sex they were born as, no? How is that not stating the truth? Also i dont think my comments are "overly hostile".

Desertnord [OP]

Thats your interpretation of what they said. Not what they actually said. I'm not going to continue arguing. If you do not see an issue, keep doing it and see where it gets you.

This content violated transmedical rules and was removed. Please keep discussion respectful and not targeted at others.

Midnight_Researcher6

I'll just leave and come back when things (hopefully) get back to normal 🫡 I just joined bc this was the only place where u could talk about being trans without tucutes and weird ass comments, now thats gone and it's so unfair for us

Desertnord [OP]

“Report content that violates the rules, and don’t make hostile remarks”

You: my space is gone!!

Midnight_Researcher6

It's obvious that u mods won't do anything about all this, and MY solution is to leave. That doesnt bother u nor it's ur bussines so idk why you're trynna make fun of me. Also I never called this subREDDIT "my space" thats cringe dude, this is just another social network. I'm sure i'll find more transmed communities someplace else. ☠️ And I fucking hate tucutes, thats why i'm leaving I don't wanna see them even in a comment section.

Honestly, I would really like a rule establishing that this isn't a cringe subreddit. Or at LEAST a rule banning posting minors' faces/bodies on here.

[deleted]

Weren’t you in the subreddit during the original backlash against the cringe posting? They established pretty definitively that they support cringe posting on this subreddit.

[deleted]

They actively defend the cringe posting. I hate it, it’s both annoying and quite mean to the people in the content, but it’s definitively allowed.

Desertnord [OP]

We can add a rule about posting the faces of minors but this may be tricky in verifying that the individual is a minor in many circumstances.

I do see your point, I do also want to acknowledge that these posts are made publicly with the user's consent (hopefully). I can absolutely see the argument for removing faces of minors and I think this could be done with community support (the community would have to be responsible for pointing out that a user is a minor if that is the case). I find it harder to consider doing the same for adults, even if they are young adults. With current moderation, we would not allow usernames or community names to be put forward so they could not be found from this subreddit alone. However, it was their choice to post publicly in a space that other users may find and use their images (speaking to the legality of using content, what you post is no longer 'yours', and the choice to censor that content really lies on those using or hosting that content).

Oh yeah I’ve been meaning  to ask mods this for a while, I’m curious, so you know how tucutes hate this sub, on average how many reports does this sub/ our posts get? Also how many hateful posts do you have to filter out (from either political spectrum). Just curious not intending to insult.

Desertnord [OP]

Reports ebb and flow. Sometimes there’s an especially pissed off user who will report years worth of posts. Generally it’s all the same “hate based on identity” reports. NB posts are especially likely to face reports. Those are also where we occasionally get users coming in to say “you won’t let us defend ourselves!”

We really don’t get a lot of hate posts or comments. Especially with the new harassment filters (and I significantly boosted the automod). We did ban a user yesterday and warn other subs he participated in about his vile comments and he came back to make a bunch of vile comments and posts again today but we have filters on that detect ban evasion and his remarks were never published. Gets a chuckle from me to see all that hate that the subreddit will never even be aware of.

[deleted]

Ah ok thank you, I was curious because I knew that there would probably be vitriol from both sides (people do not like us for some reason). Thanks for saying! It is bloody hilarious that they try to shove hate in our faces but can’t even get it into the subreddit lol

lennoner

sorry to bother you, but i sent you a chat message inquiring about something important. thanks!
