Trying to build an agility 2h tank PC. Is this viable?

Hey guys,

after reading a bit about the agility tree and all its nifty talents to avoid damage, I was wondering if I could make my PC an agility tank this time around, with 2h weapons just because I like them so.

I'm not sure if it'll work out, but I was planning on going full leather, high finesse, taking Arrow Shield, Riposte and what other avoidance talents I find. Perhaps get the taunt stance from the defense tree and augment myself with mirror image and the like before storming into battle (while trying to get lore as high as possible).

Has anyone tried a build like that before? If so, how did it work out?

Pretty much my build ATM. It works really well.

Ah, that's good to know. Any advice I should look out for when going this route?

I'm only part way through Act 2 of my first playthrough.

I do know that in terms of combat my dude is dishing out something similar to the other three put together. He gets to wipe out the heavily armoured foes as well.

As long as you keep your parry up, use leather armor, have high finesse, and use blur + mirror image, you will be fine.

My most recent hard run was a 2h using duelist and magic talents and he tanked fine. Once you get volcanic weapons it's GG.

I feel bad using Volcanic Weapons tbh. Weapon buffs in general are too strong and VW is just blatantly overpowered.

I tried and failed miserably to make 2h agility/quickness dps.My party was constantly getting wiped other than me, but I was trying for reaver or berserker build. High dps low health build, but the main problem is strike speed, I found it too hard to increase the attack speed fast enough to make up for the strength loss.

Magic enemies would often hit me for like 90% of my health too. Obviously 1 handed + shield makes the best tank. That was my first build and even though I picked some stuff horribly, it has remained as the easiest starting build. Spell based anything is the hardest start imo.

I tried this, it was excellent-- the saving grace for me was definitely splashing magic though. I forget the exact talent spread, but I was relying on illusion buffs to keep my defenses stupidly high to increase ripostes and sigil of volcanic weapon to just melt faces.

I know I grabbed the Imbue the Elements talents just to increase raw damage per hit, and I think I took the ward talents as well... Basically, my plan was to completely disregard recovery speed in favor of hitting like a truck, and then use riposte to hit like a truck at high speed. It was kind of OP.
