Tape was playing fine then this happened, any hope or is it just borked?
Got this tape of recorded shows from my parents basement and was stoked to discover Scary Godmother on it until this happened. It just appears to be from this part of the tape that this happens and all other VHS I've put in this VCR with this CRT works fine. Is there any way to save this or is the tape just fucked?

Have you tried tracking on remote? Otherwise, I've discovered, that for some reason. Some tapes refuse to work with some VCRs, but not others. So, if you have another VCR, try it. How much of tape does this?

I will give it a shot, I'll have to find a remote that works with my VCR. Prior to this happening I watched the Little Bear movie and It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, so probably about two hours into the tape. I just wanted to relax and watch some fun movies at the time and wasn't in the mood to ride this out, so idk how long this goes for, I'll have to check when I'm in a good mood.
On thing that occurs to me is I was a total scaredy cat as a kid and it's possible this freaked me out so much my parents may have fast forwarded it whenever we watched this tape. Is it possible something like that could wear the tape out in a specific spot?

If there's no tracking button on remote. Then I believe, the up n down channel buttons will do the trick. But as for wearing a tape down? I guess it's possible, but probably not practical. As I've never heard of it happening.
