JavaScript and Scope I

I am starting a series of very short articles about JavaScript basics. The idea is to use code, and code that you can edit to explain the most important and fundamental behaviors in JavaScript. The first covers the bare essentials of scope in JavaScript. I hope the simple code examples help you easily remember how JavaScript works. Any feedback from learners is appreciated, because these articles are for you so I'm happy to improve things to help you learn.
