Bowerman Mile Predictions & Discussion
Less than 24 hrs until race time. Pacers have been instructed to take them through the half at 1:51.5, which is exactly world record pace. Who wins? What time? How does it play out?

I’d like to say the WR is going down… but Hocker has stated he’s not close to peaking yet, and no Jakob or Kerr in the race. So I just don’t know if the competition is there to challenge the the record. Would be awesome to see that happen though

Nuguse is another HUGE contender. Just 2 years ago he ran a 3:43.9 FAT mile time at Prefontaine Classic. And that was against Ingebrigtsen. Nuguse has the best chance at tearing down the mile world record. While I think Jocker has it in him, if he is mentally trapped in this “I am not close to peaking yet” then this mindset won’t work to his benefit. Ideally, Hocker just needs to sit behind someone like Nuguse, he can do it. But all it takes is to make sure you are following the pace lights and not be falling behind them. That’s what happened to Ingebrigsten in 2023 when he came close just missing milliseconds off of achieving a mile World Record
