Thank you.

I was going off the YouTube bio, but if he's moved around, that's cool.

Halaku

Sorry, chum. This is "An official admin-moderated community to provide a space for moderators to discuss mod related topics." You should have searched for: "how to report a reddit moderator"

The answer pops right up if you're using Google.

Halaku

You... you have read the community guidelines / subreddit rules for r/ModSupport, right?

Halaku

Where did you get the idea that r/ModSupport was the place to ask this?

Halaku

What's your point?

Halaku

This is why Old Reddit is best Reddit.

I still have all those options.

Halaku

So, op, do you feel polished and warm now?

Halaku

The lineage goes like this:

  • The Anglican Catholic Church (ACC) schisms away from the Episcopal church in 1977 over disagreement with what eventually became the 1979 Book of Common Prayer that the Episcopal church uses to this day.

  • The Traditional Protestant Episcopal Church (TPEC) leaves the ACC as they wanted to focus on 'Low Church', evangelistic, 'morning prayer' services, as opposed to the ACC's highly Anglo-Catholic Eucharistic liturgies.

  • The Reformed Anglican Church leaves the TPEC in 2009, what's left of the TPEC merges with the Anglican Orthodox Church in 2011, though they're now known as the Orthodox Anglican Church.

At least in America, Anglicanism is kinda like Baskin Robbins: 31derful flavours.

Halaku

It was a worthy sacrifice.

Halaku

Priest in the Reformed Anglican Church, dedicates an episode to condemning the Democratic candidate in the US Texas Senate election. Cool if that's your jam. I'll pass.

The downvote isn't supposed to be a Facebook "Dislike" button.

It's supposed to be used for content that adds nothing to the conversation.

Halaku

Look at this in conjunction with the other posts on funding per student and other areas being affected at the individual high school level.

Why?

Halaku

To think that you created an account last month just in time for election season.

Halaku

It was that the designers built a game that was supposed to be following how people were playing the game at the time and it just magically didn't end up being popular.

Considering what it did to the Forgotten Realms, I can't imagine why people hated it.

Nope. Not at all.

Halaku

So, it's like this.

  • There's over fourty national churches (Provinces) across the globe that are part of the Anglican Communion, descended in one form or another with the Church of England. Some of them (The US and Welsh ones off the top of my head) would cheerfully welcome you with open arms. I can't speak for the rest, but in Brazil you'd be looking for Igreja Episcopal Anglicana do Brasil and if you click that link you'll be taken to a listing for that Province and her ten Dioceses in case you'd like to find one close to you. THIS LINK should take you directly to their main page. I am pleased to report that they fully affirm LGBTQ+ inclusion, allowing same-sex marriage and ordaining open LGBTQ+ clergy. If you go there, you'll be in excellent hands.

  • But. Not all Anglicans are as affirming, and not all Anglicans are in the Communion. While the IEAB dates back to 1810 (The only church in Brazil older than us Anglicans is the Catholics) there's a breakaway new kid on the block, the Anglican Church in Brazil (IAB), formalized in 2018 and largely supported by African churches that are not affirming. Needless to say, neither is the IAB. They're Anglican, sure, but the main reason the Anglican faith is seeing schism in the 21st century boils down to "Conservative churches saying the rest of us are Doing It Wrong" and walking away, so if you don't treat Catholic or conservative protestant churches as safe options, you probably want to give them a pass, and stick to the two links from the previous point.

Good luck. Welcome home.

Halaku

There are major bureaucratic hurdles in the way of new construction, and that's before legal machinations and voter propositions come into play.

Halaku

You don't have an issue.

Your friend has an issue.

They'll need to appeal the suspension on their own.

Halaku

Your post got nuked.

In short, our theory is that voters often do not judge housing policies by weighing the costs and benefits to them personally or the impacts the policy would have on their neighborhoods, but rather by relying on their affect toward the groups these policies make salient.

I live in the San Francisco bay area.

Virtually no one here votes against housing with this being a primary motivation.

Rather, it's straight "I don't want my property values lowered", with "I don't want more traffic" and "I don't want more immigration causing increased competition for resources".

It really is that simple. Sticking it to folk who profit off housing availability increases is decidedly tertiary.

Halaku

They're solidly MAGA, pro-ACNA, and anti-TEC.

Does that make them untrustworthy? Or is that simply a paradigm you need to keep in mind?

Halaku

"I don't have the money (or I do and I don't want to spend it)" is the same logic used to defend piracy.

Which may help explain the reasoning behind the negative reactions when encountered.

Halaku

New blood for the r/Lounge!

In addition, if an author uses AI to generate an image for their book, particularly the cover, that seems like a good use of the tool as well. Yes, you can argue that they should pay an artist for those images, but many indie authors out there don’t have the funds for that. And if a book does not have an engaging cover, that can certainly impact the sales.

So it's okay for an author to replace an artist with a program to do the cover, replace a narrator with a program to do the audiobook, but it's not okay to replace the author to write the book?
