Hey! There will be liquidity mining incentives in the near future. There needs to be significant demand for an asset to drive lending rates up, and once some stablecoins are supported we can expect to see more lend/borrow activity. Overall lending involves much lower risk than eg providing liquidity on a dex so incentives don't need to be crazy.

There are several! You can earn lending yield which is pretty low-risk. Certain assets lent can be used as collateral for borrowing other assets. It's also a way to earn some yield on your PoS assets without bonding them (so you can withdraw and use or trade instantly).
In the near future there will be liquidity mining incentives, so similar to how you earn additional OSMO for providing liquidity for pairs on Osmosis, you will be able to earn additional UMEE for lending on Umee without the risk of impermanent loss.
