Sure thing, it’s a weird hill to die on but if that’s your prerogative then keep on shouting.

Once AI has spread into every facet of society you can just go and live in a cabin in the woods.

And the same thing can be done with AI… a human can make the choice, can drive and steer the output until it matches their idea. It’s really no different to me telling a fabricator “I want a picture of a horse wearing high heels, smoking a cigar while riding a bicycle” and their team gives me some images to choose from vs entering the prompt and choosing from the ten outputs.

That is what, wait for it, people do too. You know when they learn, they all sit around in a class and someone shows them and they copy, and they follow their favourite artists and pieces and rearrange them and “regurgitate” them.

When a film writer and director have an idea, they direct a bunch of people to do shit for them and then sit and edit and curate it all into a final piece, and then people say “Spielberg” made some amazing movies.

Nobody in this world starts from zero. We collectively share and recycle and “regurgitate” each others ideas, that’s how it actually works if you’re an honest creative. AI has only added a huge speed multiplier and cost reduction to it.

They won’t be extinct, but it will be like my grandmother that still refuses to use a mobile phone.

No.. you can make new pieces that do not and have not existed before. It isn’t just a regurgitation, it is more akin to inspiration.

Many “masterpieces” of art, sitting in museums around the world today and attributed to a specific artist, were not hand painted or sculpted by that artist… they used teams, students, assistants, fabricators to do it for them. The artist often has an idea, expresses it, and people manufacture it for the artist to finally curate. Andy Warhol, Damian Hirst, Rembrandt, Leonardo DaVinci - all have their names attached to pieces that were not created by their hand, only their minds eye.

It doesn’t make sense, “anti” AI brigade are irrational and unrealistic. If you don’t want to see games that used AI, play things published before 2023 because nearly every single game from now on will likely use AI in some way.

And you will just be like my grandma that refuses to use a mobile phone. The new generations and future customers won’t understand or care, and the latest and bleeding edge content will be made will AI 🤷

there are places where you might get a few free credits, some limited ai models, but you will not get good quality image and video models for free because it costs too much

Your comment really ignores the reality that most people that make stuff online never really make much money, they do it as a side project/hussle/gig and because it’s their passion, and that isn’t going away just because generative AI exists.
