In my family, my wife and I are the only ruling party, with a vested interest in ourselves and our children. There is no accepted outside vote, there is no other party that gets to have their say.

Again, as nations are extensions of the family, a hefty amount of care needs to be exercised here on who gets a say in democratic processes, who gets any social safety net or benefits, etc.
