Latte cookie is sort of in the GM1 meta as a super duper extremely highly niche counter team that they’re cooking on the crk theory servers btw, so ur surprisingly not as cooked as u think u are

Not unlucky, probably wrong build re: ferret problem. Btw some of the guides recommend building ferret with a mix of almond and swift choco, getting both DMG res and cool down to around 32% and 36% respectively. Fun fact: teams that have 2s dark cacao start has a high tendency to beat teams that have a 2s mystic flour start, so there’s that to consider. This arena is a real guesswork in the dark bc they look the same, it’s a bit of a pain. That said, urs looks more likely to be ur build not doing well enough (from ur ferret and dca stats). It’s just that on top of that you could’ve also fought against the wrong team.

It’s all about learning what team to use to counter what teams, as well as toppings and cooldown timing to make sure ur cookie activates at certain timing. For example the opponent’s team you fought here did 2s dca cooldown, which means it instantly stuns ur team. If you imagine a full team that goes like 2s dca (stun), 3s mf (slows down cooldown), it’ll throw the opponent something like a stun lock so you can see how that gives u an advantage in the match!

It’s just about what’s meta and what’s not. Sometimes we get meta epics too, like creme brulee was once tearing up the dance floor and financier has barely budged from the meta for seasons and seasons.

It’s definitely true that meta teams are built out of similar cookies that are meta in that season. It will just rotate as the game comes up with new updates. There’s definitely been recent complaints about the amount of epic cookies that haven’t been in the meta for awhile, but I think star coral and ferret’s release aided with that (ferret meta in guild battle and arena, star coral meta in guild battle)

I’m f2p and I feel that this game is relatively f2p friendly but you just have to be patient and grind and have the right teams and toppings for the right cookies in arena. Good luck!

Anyway I’ve seen in jjk itself people have compared sukuna to an asura ( a race of diety in Hindu mythology), and on top of that a quick google also talks about jjk and Buddhist influences, and even in Buddhism there are many occasions depicting Buddha with multiple arms (which is a delight to think about how religions cross influence each other but as I am not a historian I will not go into it. but it’s important to note Buddhism and Hinduism both originated in India so there is much connection to think about there)

There’s media that take influences from other modern media (nothing is original!). However I always doubly appreciate it when media takes inspiration from the historical source and u can really tell from the richness of the world and the story rather than just copying the visual without understanding why. Cookie run is one of those who does that, inspired by the source material as opposed to copying other modern media even with mystic flour’s story rich in buddhism as well . I am so excited to see what they do for their other beast cookies!

I’d like to go off on a different tangent about her “pertinence”. Since cookie run is a pretty straight forward game they don’t particularly have time for nuances in character writing which is completely 100% fine, it is what it is and having simple characters with strong personalities give players a quick chance to immediately form a quick impression and bond with the strong characters. For e.g. HB being loud, cheerful, vivacious, free spirited but perhaps a bit TOO free spirited (afraid to face her kingdom), GB as arrogant, cocky, prideful but actually very generous and kind, DCA as stern, harsh, but responsible and determined. PV as vanilla as he is meant to be ur template kind, soft BUT very strong sense of direction in leading others - he’s more of a beam of light here.

I think white lily’s early story as a curious child was interesting, or even the side note of her in pitaya’s story strikes me as intelligent in witty ways. However everything else we know of her is defined by her pertinence, by her tragedy, by her sadness. Beyond the incident of the mistakes she makes as a child, her personality is just “being a victim” (yes we can be victims of our own actions before anyone starts calling me illiterate lol), all previous curiosities of the world faded to the BG in favour of her personality being sad and guilty which makes for an extremely soft and faded character. On top of you’ve repeatedly mentioned that in fact her guilt is based off actions that don’t feel like her own — lots of ppl missing the point that everything white lily did that made her turn into dark enchantress yes that IS her fault, but the reader does not feel the consequence or weight of white lily being the one to KILL and SLAUGHTER thousands of cookies and tear the entire earth bread to pieces. Essentially it feels the White lily is morally responsible for dark enchantress’ birth, but NOT her actions. While the story tries to impress on us that it is the same, the cookies’ reaction to her does not feel that way. In the same way if we watched a sad video about a kind mother giving birth to a child that was born evil and went around killing others but the mother has been trying to stop the child - we don’t feel like the mother is the sole reason for the child’s actions.

Basically all in all, most cookies in crk who are deep within the story and lore have one strong personality trait and a counter personality to that that plays off each other to create a fun character. However, to me WL’s strongest trait is now “guilt… that doesn’t even feel like her own” (which isn’t even a particularly strong character trait) with no counter point of interest.

Side note. In crk there’s another cookie who feels guilt all the time too…. Werewolf cookie! But their counter personality that contrasts it and makes it interesting and makes them endearing is their absolutely silly doggy behaviour and their helplessness to cherry cookie saying things like sit!!! Paw!!!! I’m not saying white lily should do the same, but i mean to convey that that’s what crk does well with simple but strong writing of characters. Give me something else about white lily. Give me her intelligence. Give me her wit. Give me SOMETHING ELSE to define her by aside from sadness and guilt. Give me her buried in books with 12 inches of glasses and looking over like an old grandma going “ah??” Give me her favourite food. Her innocent flaws. Just give me something… I won’t use the term Mary Sue because that term is misunderstood but also keeps getting its definition refreshed with every new modern media, but she just has a very washed out character compared to everyone else and so we can only feel that she is sad, pretty, someone to be forgiven…… and that’s not really a character… that’s just a vaguely sad pop song. That’s my gripe.

However healing strength wise both of them are not like crazy great healers (like u mentioned they’re both more used for their buffs, mint Choco for giving ur team attack speed and rock star for giving ur team crit), I wouldn’t use them as the ONLY healer on the team (rockstar is still possible as solo healer, but mint Choco as the only healer on the team will truly not heal enough for higher levels). If u want a purely healer type it’d be someone like cream ferret or mystic flour (or even cream puff or if you’re in dire need, snapdragon). If your team doesn’t have other healers at all and u need to climb, I think focusing on cookies like cream ferret over mint chocolate or rockstar is far more important.

Wildberry usually does this around the 1 min mark, it’s either u kill them off fast enough before that point or you use a good counter. a counter team to wb would look a lot tankier(maybe replace ml with dca or finan).

In fact if the opponents don’t have wa, the previous season’s counter to these kind of wild berry team was just stormbringer doing her magic + dca + fin + mf +ferret. Hope this helps

I’ll paste all the guides for you since it’s pretty complicated. I encourage u not to avoid aod since u already have creme brûlée! when I first tested the current aod team in the YouTube video without having the exact stats or high ascended cookies (my ferrets still one starred only actually), it got me a nice 2bil per ticket instantly. Tweaking it is getting me 2.7 bil right now, and I’m havent even achieved the exact need toppings for creme brulee!

I’m f2p too and I think these are somewhat achievable!! The most important things to follow are the stats toppings especially when the guide says THIS STAT IS NEEDED!!! (Especially cooldown for guild battle has a lot to do with activating the cookie at the right point to make sure the cookie or another cookie doesn’t die bc the boss is doing something unique at that moment)

my cookies don’t all have the exact stats as the guides , but as long as they’re close to the ones listed in the guide/as long as they have the necessary ones, it’ll give u a really good score 👍

Oh no no no, youve been one of the most cordial people ive spoken with on reddit so I was quite happy with the lengthy discussion! I’m sorry to hear that you laugh about it, I was merely trying to empathise with the people on this post so I was trying to find a point of entry for discussion. On one hand, I understand the frustration when new cookies come in and the meta changes everytime, but I also understand the other side of the discussion which is on your side, since I have been very comfortable in the GM arena at this point without trying very hard. I think I’ll stop this discussion now since your experience sounds far beyond mine, I don’t have anything to contribute to it, since you know much more than I do having been a longer player. And truth is I don’t disagree with you. You are definitely correct. I was merely trying to find a point to empathize with new players and the early frustration they might feel. The more I play, the less the I understand how to help new players since things get easier and easier for me that I’ve forgotten how difficult it was at the start, so I’m just trying to be understanding about it while expressing my feelings of burn out from this game. Thank you for that! 👋 I agree with the sleep and wake up thing too. It’s easy to climb 200 ranks after waking up but quite typical to drop 200 ranks when u sleep. The idea of rushing tickets for the final 2 days is also a great idea, I’ll take note of that for this season, thank you!

I understand, but to be very fair I’m referring to when I touch top 200 then get booted down extremely quickly, like there’s definitely a cap to how much I can climb without properly ascended cookies in general. Highest I got when I was reallly grinding was around 160-180 rank before i got slammed really hard back to 500 and below. My labs are also almost maxed out too, actually! I prioritized a lot of cookie stats over the other stuff heh (watches my production line suffer) and I’ll have to insist that I do feel like they affect on a certain level though. For example even when I have the right counter team I’m not going to try and fight the highest Starred mf who also has a fully starred dca and a 4A burning spice on their team. Some things just do add up when the overall team is fully ascended. And I only have a 1 star mf and dca and wa, there’s no way I’m beating that. (But ofc I often take on teams that have higher ascension than mine all the time, if not I wouldn’t be able to play at all! For example in my experienced maxed out dca are actually easy to beat : )! I just mean I definitely avoid maxxed out teams, and this post is about f2p having a hard time playing, so my point of entry for the discussion is about versusing others who have a whole group of cookies with high ascension, for example the burning spice example was also a team who had extremely low levelled treasures so it took me by surprise. But like I said, new meta is hard since I’ll have to start figuring out the right counter teams now for burning spice( if u have any pls recc) )

That said I do agree with you, I’m always lacking in things like balancing my cd with dmg res amounts, those are still in the works for me since the amount of good toppings I’d have is a lot lesser than longer players!!! F2P on dca, hitting GM the past 6 seasons at least. Not here to brag tho, here to say that it felt like digging a hole though because every season I had to be absolutely obsessed with doing EVERY single event thing to get every single reward and if I’m not following guides all the time I’m seriously not getting anywhere.

Obsession paid off a bit since the last few seasons I could relax at GM without trying too hard, so……. I want to say it’s doable!!! Honestly it is.. but every single time a new meta starts it’s awful again. Without burning spice I’m stuck at e2 again in this new meta.

(Edited) Other advice: you can pile ur tickets to rush towards the end for ranking, rank dropping is inevitable so it’ll be better to consistently play everyday then do a rush of tickets near the end!

Seconded this was the only team carrying me to GM previous season. The basic meta wa team itself was getting smacked everywhere by other meta wa teams asf since I had 0 promotion on him!

(Hello! Sorry OP for adding in here. But I’m popping in I’m going to give a boring answer that’s fully f2p just bc I think jelly is a pretty easy resource to get as a f2p, consistently GM2-3 player, started playing crk around 10months ago? I think. I can’t remember. But I’m DCA, I think OP is another channel they sound really experienced. Here’s some tips! - take part in events regularly to get really high ranking as possible as u can in ur capabilities. A lot of events sell those level 60 jelly concentrate in their shops. Prioritize those high unique things in their shops don’t buy the small stuff. - jelly house. Get to building as many as possible n level them asap. Take note of kingdom prosperity, the higher prosperity you get somethings like Jellys also produce at a much higher rate - that pirate ship island thing. I can’t remember what it’s called. - level up ur fountain

• most of all…..TIME. Once you pass the 4-5 month mark in crk you’ll have too many jellies that you just cannot get rid of them despite having like 40 cookies at max level. I’m a f2p-er and I feel like coins and jelly is one of those that I wouldn’t spend on since they start rolling in the fastest amongst resources. Crk is so fun at the start, but I really recommend just holding ur horses and taking ur time as things will be rolling in so much for you you’ll have no idea what to do with your 400 000 000 million coins or your 40 stacks of 99,999,999, 999 EXP jelly I would give them away if I could. I WOULD however be interested in spending on things like cookie pulls. )

That said, feel free to spend whatever you’d like by OPs recommendations!!! You should play the game as you enjoy it!!! I’m just piping in to mention the stuff I focused on for jelly gathering when I was early game too it was something I looked up really early on as well! Hope my research can help ya

Do agree with this as a regular player familiar w the system but also as someone who’s done design on UIUX stuff, I thought this one could stand to have the title clarified.

since special methods to advance ur cookies (crystal gem, magic candy) have always traditionally been in other parts of the game all together, to have it in the gacha category could make new players assume it could be just a gacha for pulling the cookie itself. I get that it was a really special situation and NOT at all similar to crystal gem or mc though, but the categorizing could be somewhat misleading. They should prioritize “awaken” as the primary design element, or even secondary, and not as a tiny circle in the corner. The rest in here are fine and quite clear tho!

Last note. Get creme brulee. He’s a boss eater. Any difficult level, creme brulee with the treasure on robes will save you and it’s so satisfying to see him eat up bosses in 5s like it’s nothing.

Build him with a team that exists just to protect him (so like financier, cream puff, mf, ferret, a defender maybe ice yeti or dca)

• sometimes depending on the stage if you need crowd control for too many small monsters then ppl will use frost queen (w her crystal jam) or white lily to help with that

Financier is an undefeated tank in arena rn has been in the meta for almost like 5 seasons now and still don’t see her leaving, get her leveled get her soulstones from the exploration or shop and get her magic candy (must have)

Other ones you’ll see everywhere dc, mf, wa, financier, are the mainstays of most teams now

Sometimes stormbringer sometimes moonlight sometimes stardust, depending on ur team comp + ferret too! They’re also used in guild battle so that helps

Default meta rn: financier, dca, mf, ferret, wa.

Financier: chocolate moderate cooldown (28-34%) high high high dmgr Mf: chocolate, 2s cooldown (44.6% cd above) Dca: chocolate, dmr, dark dmg, dmg res bypas, cooldown not above 10% Ferret: chocolate high cd around like 29% will do I think Wa: rasp, no need cd, super high dmg res bypass like 39 above ideally, some attack spd

Treasures: watch vial feather / watch monocle holyberry ring (depends on who ur facing )
