My mom was abusive, drug addict, alcoholic, who had us living in a car, various trap houses, shelters and hostels. As kids we were regularly abused by various people, and strangers she met at shelters who she paid $20 to "watch us" while she went binging.

The system and courts, children's aid, all of them, ignore what she was, ignored what happened to us under her "care", and continued to keep us in her custody. She told the courts my dad was violent and abusive. He was not, never hit us, never did anything bad to us, he maintained a business and and clean, safe home, he did not drink or do drugs and had no criminal record.

As an adult, after my dad's passing, I came into possession of all the court documents, statements, everything.

He fought hard to get custody of us, and was denied repeatedly due to my mother's accusations, which were never true, never proven, not ever investigated.

Fuck the system, and fuck absolutely everyone, including you, who have no idea what really happens and go directly to blaming the father.

I'm surprised that your psychologist did not communicate with your doctor.

My experience is walk in, apply, keep going back every few days, don't rely on email and phone calls.

Jim over there running the shop doesn't care about your resume. He wants to know if he can rely on you to change tires and clean the shop until you prove yourself reliable enough to take on as an apprentice.

I have worked in various shops across multiple different industries as a mechanic for decades.

Every shop I've been at, the new hires were the guys who came back 2-3 times a week ready to work.

The guys who brought in a resume and we never heard from again, never got called.

I have witnessed my shop manager (owner) take a resume from a walk in, glance it over, say "I'll get back to you", and toss the resume in the trash when the dude left.

Two hires I've been responsible for were people who didn't have resumes, but they had work boots and were at the door at opening.

Seriously hired a guy who knew the shop opens at 4am, and was standing at the locked door, in the dark, before I came in to open.

Downside? We have hired people who work like a dog but quit to goto the next shop, or next trade, etc.

Upside? If you feel like you need to file a restraining order to keep someone away from the shop, you know they are reliable.

It was -1 a few days ago, and 4 celsius this week so far.

I would have that legal and back on the road in a day.

I had a Nissan kingkab 4x4 which was totalled twice, once by me tboning someone and once bye sliding into a tree while definitely not using it for hauling firewood off road.

Both times I just collected the payout, and fixed it back up.

Toyota's are stronger than nissans. I hate admitting that, because I love my Nissan's. But the straight axle and solid frame makes them outlast anything else from the same generation.

Take the box off and make a stake deck, or source a used box.

The only loaded trailer I can say for certain;

A loaded log trailer. The bunks, pickets, winches, and cables/ropes. There are specific regulations for each of these parts, including spacing of tie down points (which changes depending on tree length load, 10 foot, etc).

The entire unit must be capable of holding the load while the trailer is rotated upside down.

However, during a crash with a loaded trailer which over turns, the load often spills anyway, but it does not go far.

As for loaded chip trailers and gravel trucks with only a tarp, I don't know the regulations regarding them.

I only work on log trucks and trailers. (Which is also why I know about the bark, trailers not swept off at the mill after unloading get fined pretty frequently for losing pieces of bark and snow, ice, etc.

Some drivers are extremely safe, and will come in hours before their leave time to scrape and brush their trailers.

Others don't care, and must have deep pockets.
