Anyone reading.. do NOT do it this way. You risk ripping pads off the board or other damage.

Can do without but it’s a pain in the ass. I did an IPS GBC a while ago and didn’t get the brackets and it looked fine when I put it together but has since slipped and now looks shit. I haven’t touched it since but eventually will get the brackets and fix it.

Ultimately the would be easiest to reshell with an IPS moulded shell as it’ll just drop right in. If you are modding an original shell you’ll have to trim and use brackets or spacers of some sort.

Learn to solder and do the job properly. Takes literally 10 seconds to do it. Don’t be one of those people who don’t want to learn new skills. Soldering is not that hard.

It sounded absolutely terrible. I sold it to some international student who wanted a cheap guitar to jam on. I saw the one at carindale and thought it could of been my old one but the bridge looked different but having a look at the pic I posted it’s definitely not the same guitar. I had to route the bridge down as it was too high and really needed a neck reset. They are absolutely garbage guitars.

Just finished up rebuilding my GBL after owning it for a few years. The original screen had a ton of cancer so I had to change to a regular pocket screen. The LED backlight is the same teal as the EL panel but brighter. It looks super crisp in person and the right shade of greenish blue. I didn’t unsolder the EL transformer so I can always return it back to stock if I ever came across the correct screen (with the transflective polariser).

Yes, i got my 2nd Pfizer while i had the flu. I didn't get any real side effects other than being a bit extra tired so it didn't do me any difference.

You can’t get the correct polariser for a Gameboy light. I’ve got one with a repro clear shell and just putting a blue backlight in it. I tried to save the polariser but it just ended up ripping. The blue backlight very muck looks similar to the EL panel anyway.
