321gametime
...this is sarcasm right? Did we not watch the same climax?

It really highlights the talent of the creators that despite being (allegedly) weaker than the first season, it's still a 9/10.

Samus Returns has a reference to the Prime games, so as of now they are 100% canon. The series creator Yoshio Sakamoto did say at one point the Prime games were a side story, so a lot of people took that as him saying they weren't canon. Other M does have one contradiction to the lore in the Prime games, but Other M also has contradictions to the lore in the MAINLINE series.
Prime games are canon and take place between Metroid 1 and 2, with the exception of Prime 4. Because Prime is a (mostly) self contained side story, it's entirely up to you if you want to play then in timeline order or play them after you are done with the main series. I prefer playing the 2D games back to back, but again it's up to you. If you are specifically wanting to catch up before Ravenous, then I would definitely suggest getting the 2D games out of the way first so you are fully caught up with the necessary story content, then treat the Prime games as a bonus.

My suggestion is to basically treat the Prime games as their own series, although I would highly suggest playing Zero Mission first... which you already did so it is up to you if you want to play the 2D games first or go into Prime.
Hunters is... a weird game. The game was really developed for the multiplayer rather than the single player. The campaign (at least in my opinion) isn't that good. I wouldn't call it required, but I think it's worth checking out if you are interested. You might like it more than I do.
As for WHEN to play it... again it's weird. Hunters canonically takes place between Prime 1 and 2, however the game was released between 2 and 3. With how self contained the story is, I honestly think playing it in either of these spots works. Only one of the titular "Hunters" will actually show up in future games anyway.
BTW, if you are going to play Hunters, I suggest looking at either the custom MelonDS build, or the recomp.

AM2R is a much more faithful remake than Samus Returns. You should absolutely play that first. My suggestion is AM2R right after Zero Mission, then play Samus Returns right before you play Dread. There is some cool new story content in the remake that will be relevant for Dread, but I believe you can only access it if you get 100% items. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
321gametime
I will take ANY Astro I can get my hands on.
321gametime
Dread pretty much had all of them right? Why should we expect some of them to be missing?

I'm still new to all of this stuff so forgive me if this sounds stupid. How soon can we expect Linux to run on this? I would love to turn my PS5 into a psudo Steam Machine. If I do that, will I also be able to dual boot back into the standard PS5 OS?

I hate that my first instinct for all of these ports is to check if they are vibe coded or not. Luckily, it looks like this port isn't. Thank God.

In my opinion, both games suffer from hand holding, however Fusion takes it to an OBNOXIOUS degree. At least with Zero Mission I can somewhat excuse the waypoints since this is intended to be a starting point for someone entering the franchise. Going from Super to Fusion is so jarring.

This is like asking how was Our American Cousin at Ford's Theatre on April 15, 1865
321gametime
If you have access to a PC, I would suggest playing AM2R first before Samus Returns. It is a much more faithful remake of the original game and fits nicely between Zero Mission and Super Metroid. My suggested order in full would be Zero Mission, Am2r, Super Metroid, Fusion, Samus Returns
321gametime
I would love to have one so much. Fusion is the only 2D Metroid I don't like. It's a good game, but the de-emphasis on exploration really hindered the experience for me. A remake that removes a lot of the linearity and hand holding would be incredible.
321gametime
I know AM2R and Prime 2D but what's the last fan game?
321gametime
Fusion is my least favorite 2D Metroid but I love the premise so much. I would love a remake that removes a lot of the hand holding and linear level design. A Super Metroid remake in the 2.5D style would be cool as well, but not needed as much imo

One of Aang's flaws, and one that gets addressed numerous times in the show and comics, is his tendency to hold onto the past. Almost every antagonist in Korra is advocating for change (Amon wants to remove benders, Unalaq wants to open the spirit world, Zaheer wants to remove monarchy). I'm sure Aang would have at least listened to his opponents, but I don't think he would have caused any major changes to the systems in place happen. He probably would have kept the spirit portals closed and let the Earth Kingdom return to it's monarchy.
This isn't me trying to criticize Aang. Aang 1000% could have defeated all the antagonists in LOK in terms of skill and combat. I believe though that Korra was the correct Avatar to fight those opponents to bring good change to the world. The reverse is true as well. I'm sure any of the Avatar could have defeated Ozai, however Aang was the correct one to defeat him.

Hey guys
Guess what
Metroid Ravenous
321gametime
I jumped up and down in my chair and hurt my hip when I saw Samus.
321gametime
I would go with 7 for Iroh, but then I gotta deal with sweaty try hard /neg, so I'ma say 8 so I can have Aang and sweaty try hard /pos.

Decided to rewatch Jet'a first episode after reading the comic. Watching it immediately after reading turns the episode from a standalone story into the second half of Jet's origin. Jet turns from a definitive antagonist into the morally ambiguous rebel he was originally intended to be. His actions in the episode, while still indefensible, now feel more tragic. Jet started his rebellion with good intentions, but now vengeance has consumed him. While reading the comic first might ruin some of the surprises from this episode, I think the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. I'll definitely be placing it first in my watch/read order. I still think this episode has a lot of flaws, but the new context the comics places it in helps me to forgive them more.
As for the comic itself, I think it's an 8/10. Again, it is a fantastic addition to Jet's origin. My only real issue is how the Rhinos are handled. They feel much less threatening in this book than in the actual show.

Generative AI bad. Enough said.

Claire, and no it's not because of the recent drama. When I first played the game I actually thought she was gonna become a romance option with how much she was flirting with V. I was very disappointed when it turns out you couldn't romance her. I wouldn't have even hesitanted to pick her. She's just such a great person with real, human issues.
