If I’m honest Starmer wasn’t doing anything bad. He wasn’t doing the one thing I want to happen (tax the super wealthy). But everything else was fine.

The reason everyone will hate Burnham as you say is he is operating in the same economic climate Starmer was. So long as the economy isn’t delivering a relative increase in wealth for the bottom 90% of people - people will continue to be rightly pissed off.

They may not it attribute it to that, and will blame everything else, but no one would be mad if they had more money in their pocket.

I’m saying this subreddit was all about pop culture, tv, tea, bands etc… and lately it’s just been a lot more about immigration and related topics typically spoken about by populists! Wondered why

No, it’s all optional! But I’ve noticed a sudden change in ‘topics’ let’s say on this subreddit. Typically I saw posts by Americans asking about culture in the U.K., now I am seeing a lot more about immigration. It’s just peculiar! And it rarely seems welcome when I see it, it’s pretty universally disliked. It sort of seems… deliberate?

Yeah - idk I feel like immigration is a bit of a red herring.

Like I think the problem everyone has is not having enough money, and communities dying.

But I don’t think the cause is immigration, I think the cause is everyone not getting paid enough and not enough people trained for the jobs there are.

If there was more money going around I think there’d be more money to spend on the high street and community.
