Lots of readers had issues with the fourth book, so that's not a surprise. But, many more have trouble going past books 1-2, so it is tough to give feedback. Is there more you can tell about what you are not feeling good about the current plot?

How far are you with Ghostwater? If you want awesome fights and Lindon to progress, book 5 is definitely worth it. There's also couple of more interesting characters introduced in this book.

The first volume is 100+ chapters, so you'd need to read a lot more to see why many of us gave it a 5-star rating. The stakes escalate quite a bit during the climax.

If you read just a few more chapters, you'd see MC and the xianxia protagonist teaming up on a mission.

However, you've already read a substantial chapters - the story might just not be for you.

The Undying Immortal System by G Tolley - in the later volumes, MC spends centuries in a single loop - some are summarized in a few chapters, some last the whole volume

First is available on Royal Road and can be read for free even without an account. Second one has started publishing on Kindle Unlimited and rest available on Royal Road.

I recently binge read "Surprisingly Enough(NOT), Common Sense Is Overpowered in Cliché Cultivation World" - you might enjoy that. It took me a while to appreciate the writing, but it was well done. MC is a good guy. No romance yet.

The Undying Immortal System by G Tolley - the initial few volumes have a big focus on alchemy. Even after the MC learns other professions, alchemy still plays a role and remains one of his biggest strengths.

Though, it is a cultivation setting, so it is more pills than potions.
