Use OpenEvidence instead. Much better for those types of questions (although still gets stuff wrong sometimes)

The mother could just say she has no idea who the father is. Easy.

Most of these cases, the mom is the one who tells the state to get more money for the kid. They might start off saying it's going to be all anonymous but a lot can happen in 18 years.

Lmao, this is actually a great way to remember it

Hmmm I think so? I was just a bit annoyed since I wasn't expecting that aspect but if I was expecting it, I probably would have enjoyed it more.

Not OP, but I found that book 1 has heavy Hunger Games vibes (including that level of tech). Which is kinda frustrating if you were expecting a book about politics and sci-fi tech.

From my understanding, this is more so that the story would get accepted by publishers.

Book 2 and 3 go away from that Hunger Games vibes and much more into politics and sci-fi tech (although I wish there was more of the latter personally).

I haven't read past book 3. Book 2 was my favourite.

I do think the first three books are overhyped but still good. I do have an issue with unreliable narrative plot hole in book 2/3 (ie main character acts like he doesn't know something when he should, especially since the book is done as first person).

Apparently the subsequent books are even better and doesn't have that issue anymore but I kept the series on the back burner for now.

The Alters, Control Resonant, and Starwars Zero Company

Yup, I get it every year along with the flu vaccine (which is required).

A_Shadow

yup get it every year. Get it the same time as the flue vaccine (which is required).

A_Shadow

Yup, never heard of either one of them. But thank you! Now I have something new to look into and play

A_Shadow

I would argue that Baldur's Gate 3 set the new standard for branching narrative RPGs.

Although still difficult to directly compare to ME Trilogy since that was three games tied together.

A_Shadow

It also won Game of the Year in 2023 TGA (and a shit ton of other awards) so I don't think it's super niche for just D&D players.

Actually, I think it was the first game in history to get Game of the Year at all major award shows, not just TGA.

However, just because it's popular on this subreddit/won game of year doesn't mean you should be expected to know about this game. Redditors can be easily offended sometimes smh.

You are just one of the lucky 10,000:

What was it implied to be? (I don't care about spoilers of any sort)

As a third party reading this comment chain.... Mate where are your sources that landlines polling is currently greater than cellphones?

Right now, you aren't winning any support lol.

At least the other guy is dropping sources while to a third party reader, you are just being nitpicky instead of actually dropping sources that support your argument/contradict him.

Depends on the specialty and what company the doctor is working for.

10min appointment slots for all my patients, new or follow up. And I get zero say.

Go to an academic dermatologist. Ie one that is associated with a medical school and has dermatology residents.

As a rough rule of thumb, they would have seen rarer diseases than your standard run of the mill private practice places.

Huh, I didn't realize the fire burst ability was the worst one. I also thought fire weapons were kinda boring.

Honestly the fire burst ability is my strongest ability, I feel like it does so much damage, especially to the molds.

A_Shadow

Park is easier after doing the Factory imo

A_Shadow

To be fair, I'm worried about the exact same thing with the Dresden Files

A_Shadow

That's not instant either. It's just looks instant to you. The company doesn't the get the money from you for a few days.

See the top comments in this thread for a more detailed explanation

Kept him awake for 36 hours because sleep was a risk,

This part makes zero sense. I can only assume this was a game of telephone and something got misinterpreted to the media.

He probably got no sleep in the hospital due to the blood clot, not that he couldn't go to sleep because sleeping was a risk.

Yet, time after time, they still keep on doing it. Urgh

Like, seriously, have you never bought anything that had a random discount coupon in it, even some event at a supermarket?

You are talking about sweepstakes, which by (US) law have to be "free to play". That's why it's not considered gambling. Zero cost to play. It's just in fine print, but legally you can mail the company for the coupon code/scratch card for free.

That doesn't apply here.

The cap is 2500, it's fixed. And there's no "house", it's not a gambling hall, it's just a storefront with a random discount.

Just because the cap is 2500 doesn't mean it's not gambling. And the house is obviously NetEase because the odds favor them.

Either way, NetEase's lawyers would call it gambling. Otherwise, they wouldn't have removed the mechanic in the Netherlands.

And now you have PEGI increase the age rating of Rivals specifically for this mechanic as well. I don't think NetEase has any plans to contest that change.

A_Shadow

Ahhhhh okay, yeah that makes significantly more sense. Probably should have dropped a "," there for clarity.

Think I automatically assumed the worst/trolling.

A_Shadow

Mate, do you even know what profit is?

Are you seriously suggesting that all AAA companies need to sell 50 million copies of a game to make a profit?!?

Do you somehow think that Remedy lost money on Alan Wake 2 or Control?
