Ah ok. I see. That is a shame.
Aggressive_Refuse150
Yeah it is hard to find 5080's in Canada right now. Amazon canada has a white Astal showing. Sold by third party and shipped by Amazon. I also saw Asus prime in black sold by amazon and shipped by them. Luckily I got mine last boxing day. They are now over $1300 cad more than what I paid. Ugh. Did you check Canada Computers?
Aggressive_Refuse150
Seems like you have a dead fan. Well hopefully that is the issue. I would reach out to MSI ASAP. That is not normal for sure. Yes the Ventus cards are louder than others based on reviews I have seen but yours sounds like an jet airplane. Lol. Seems like your 2 outer fans are compensating for the middle fan.
Aggressive_Refuse150
No problem. Well if I run a stress test in 3D Mark (Steel Nomad) on a 20 min loop with all my case and GPU fans on my custom silent profile. My 9800x3d doesn't go above 63c and my 5080 maxed out at 63.3c, memory 66c and hotspot 75.3c. That is with a room temps of 20c as well. Overall I am happy with the cards performance.
Aggressive_Refuse150
Yeah prices are insane. I bought my Gigabyte windforce 5080 from Newegg Canada on boxing day 2025 for $960 USD. Now they are going for over $2000 USD and that is if you can find one. It is disgusting considering what you are getting for the money. 🤢
Aggressive_Refuse150
Congrats on your new 5080. I also have the Windforce 5080. It is a good card so far. I have had mine almost 1 year with no issues. How are your temps in your case? Mine are very good however I have a high airflow case with bottom fans
Aggressive_Refuse150
Hey. I doubt you would get much more performance. The SSD would not affect game performance and as for the ram. Well you may get a few percent increase at most. X3D CPU's are not as affected by ram speed compared to the non X3D CPU's. I can only tell you what I have seen others say mind you. There has been a lot of YouTube videos on this subject. I personally have a 9800x3d/5080 with 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30 ram and 6tb of Gen 5 and Gen 4 SSD's in my build but I got my parts when things where at their cheapest. If I was in your shoes I would not bother upgrading unless I really had too. But it is your decision after all. The prices these companies are charging these days is disgusting. I feel bad for those wanting to build or upgrade.
Aggressive_Refuse150
Yeah I just checked Newegg Canada and they only have one model left at almost $3000. The rest are all sold out. Third party sellers have some but you will now pay almost $5000 for an Astral. Lol. That is insane. I got my Gigabyte windforce 5080 on boxing day for $1349. For comparison MSRP for the 5080 was around 1470$ when they came out.
Aggressive_Refuse150
Yeah I agree however most try 3D Mark and OC for a bit and then move on. The likely reason is so many are buying the 5080 as of late that the group is flooded with new 5080 owners. Testing the card is one of the things most people do first.
Aggressive_Refuse150
No one knows. We can only hope but I highly doubt it
Aggressive_Refuse150
I would be happy if it is stable in all games. That is the most important thing.
Aggressive_Refuse150
I agree. It will at least be $2000 and replce the 5090 MSRP. Nvidia doesn't care. With so many still buying the 5080 at today's prices they know they can charge insane prices. It sucks 😕
Aggressive_Refuse150
Oh wow. I wonder if they are already stopping production. So they can start the 5080 24gb version? Who knows anymore what Nvidia is doing ugh. Either way that sucks for those wanting a cheaper version.
Aggressive_Refuse150
Yeah I bought my Gigabyte windforce 5080 on Boxing Day and got mine under MSRP. I was embarrassed to post about it as so many where getring crapped on for buying them. At the time and 5070ti was only around 200$ cheaper in Canada. I am greatful I did but find it a bit crazy that people are buying them at these prices. Based on the posts it seems like they are selling like hotcakes. Nvidia will surely see they are selling and keep them at this elevated price.

I have a 9800x3d and 5080 build. Your choices are good. You will get 20 different opinions all telling you what is best. Most will give you a list of the parts they picked and tell you it is the best. Get an 360mm AIO if you want one. Most do a great job with a 9800x3d. It is not a hard CPU to cool. And if uou want an air cooler make sure you choose the larger ones. In my experience the 9800x3d can pull 170 watts at full load.
Aggressive_Refuse150
I see. That makes sense. Most people play high FPS games on a 27 inch 1440p but in your case Rocket league would be a good game for a 34 inch 360hz monitor.
Aggressive_Refuse150
Thanks. I would probably buy the newest versions. I personally don't think anyone needs much more than 240hz unless they are using a 5090. I would buy the new 280hz versions. MSI, Alienware and Asus all make great versions. They are cheaper now as well. It is a great time to buy oled monitors. Prices keep going down
Aggressive_Refuse150
I have the Windforce 5080 as well. I have had mine for almoat a year. Great GPU so far.
Aggressive_Refuse150
I actually have both. A 34-inch 3440x1440 240hz oled and a 32-inch 4k 240hz oled. Alienware AW3425DW and the MSI 321UPX. Both are great and have their uses depending on the game.
Aggressive_Refuse150
Nice build...Congrats. The 5080 pairs well with the 9800x3d. I have 2 oled monitors and they are certainly worth it.
Aggressive_Refuse150
I got my Gigabyte windforce 5080 sff on last Boxing Day for a good deal. So happy I did. I would have a hard time justifying today's asking price though. I am happy with the card overall. Congrats on your new purchase 👏
Aggressive_Refuse150
My Gigabyte windforce 5080 sff runs cool and quiet. I do have good cooling in my case. I have mine in the Lian Li LANCOOL 217 (wood) with 3 reverse 120mm fans at the bottom of my case. If I under volt my 5080 with stock fan curve, my temp in Steel Nomad hover around 58 - 60c with stock fan curve and is quiet in my opinion. Stock settings my temps do not go over 64c. That is in a room at 20c. In my opinion that is an acceptable temp for a base card.
Aggressive_Refuse150
Yeah. I agree. I have always been a console sole gamer. My first console was the Vectrex, Nintendo, Xbox etc. Lol. Built my first PC a few years ago and chose the 7800xt. FSR3 wasn't great however I was impressed with 9070xt and FSR4. I also had some driver issues but it was manageable. I am excited to see if AMD comes out with a high end competitor in the next few years. Being a fanboy of either brand makes no sense in my opinion. They certainly are not looking out for their customers.
Aggressive_Refuse150
Nice. I did the same at the end of last year. I got my 9070xt when it released and used it for quite a while. It was a good card for the money but I wanted to try Nvidia as I only had AMD cards before. So far I am happy. I hope you enjoy your new 5080. Nice looking build as well. Congrats
Unless it is sold and shipped my Amazon or the Alienware company, then it is likely a scam.
