See here's the problem. The literacy rate is so low in modern times that you legitimately don't comprehend how the literal first line of dialogue in that meme significantly sets apart op statement from the image you shared.

The argument isn't that he went into the space hoping that there wouldn't be pedophilia and incest normalization the argument he is making in this post is that those spaces shouldn't be allowed to even exist especially on public platforms.

AllAmericanProject

I think of all the lit RPGs the one that does dialogue the best is Bog Standard Isekai.

Because with how shitty everything is we have to. If we took it all seriously we would all be enraged all the time

Just coming back here cause I am literally at this scene on a re listen and dusk leaf out right says he wasn't "expecting to gain levels from a c grade gaining levels in a ritual i assisted with"

And then villy said "so I wasn't the only one"

So he very clearly gained levels

AllAmericanProject

I never understood why people had such a hard time with the difference between Jake and Jacob.

AllAmericanProject

I know a lot of people say the name was their main hang up but honestly that didn't bother me at all. I just didn't have any investment in the book. I don't know why but at some point I realized I didn't like any of the characters enough to really care about them the story wasn't really that captivating and just seemed kind of bleh

AllAmericanProject

Whenever I see lists like this I always look to see where they put a very specific series. As a certified Jason asano hater you would think that it would be he who fights with monsters but it's not. Though oftentimes when I see less that have it in dnf I do agree with a lot of their other rankings it's not consistently true because I see others where they put in S and even though I disagree on that I agree with a lot of their other points.

But Rhandidly Ghosthound is my deciding series. If a list has that in any category other than dnf or f tier I just don't even look at the rest of the list

Don't take advice from bitter people. Don't take career advice for people who hate their jobs, don't take relationship advice from dudes that hate their partners, and don't take pare ting advice from parents that resent having kids

AllAmericanProject

....

AllAmericanProject

Is this even really a legal notice though? I'm not a legal expert but I don't understand how just adding this caveat automatically makes it to where it's now illegal for them to do it whereas without the caveat it isnt

I worked for a contract where it was budgeted for 3 years so they received funds for 3 years worth of work our team evidently was a lot more efficient than we thought and we ended up completing most of the work a year ahead of schedule. How did the company handle this? They decided to come in on a Monday to tell everyone the good news about how well we've been performing and then Tuesday send out an email letting everyone know that 90% of the workforce would be laid off on Friday. No bonuses no continued work on other contracts just sent to the wind

AllAmericanProject

Yes this is a lit RPG sub but the conversation being had isn't specific to lit RPG it just sometimes applied to it. We are literally talking about examples where immersion is broken by something that would seem trivial. Also inlet RPG can have non-magical armor and non-magical weapons and still have a good story

AllAmericanProject

Sure with those caveats but do.you think that's what I'm talking about?

AllAmericanProject

May I pitch bog standard isekai

AllAmericanProject

It's actually easier for me with fantasy magic ba because it's something being established. Dragons exist? Sure that's something being established. Sword cuts through plate armor like it's butter? Well now we are taking things that are real and established and completely ignoring everything about them.

AllAmericanProject

Let's see what's worse, one man mistakenly accused and then having his name cleared publicly or an entire subtype of people online using this example to discredit any future allegations from other women? I wonder which is worse?

AllAmericanProject

You literally picked to be wrong about the one example that is literally provable. We have the flynn effect. Since we started tracking average intelligence levels (mostly IQ) Data has shown a steady increase in every generation than the prior until millennials. In op's picture that's literally what the second post is about. You claiming that every generation is dumber makes zero sense and is not supported by any scientific data and is exactly counter to what we have seen in scientific research. On average millennials are smarter than Gen x, on average Gen x is smarter than boomers, and on average boomers are smarter than the generation before them, so on and so forth. The Flynn effect is a notice in the change. Is the first generation since we started documenting intelligence levels where this is not the case.

AllAmericanProject

I think the second post is a little too matter of fact with their statement. Millennials aren't the last generation that are smarter than their parents it's just currently the trend of that happening stopped with them. It's too early to tell with Jen alpha if the trend will correct itself. Specifically what the post is talking about is how ever since like late 1800s early 1900s when we started tracking and measuring intelligence levels there has been a continuous observation of whatever methods we use showing better results with later generations. The boomers are older then the generation before them Gen x on average is smarter than boomers millennials on average or smarter than Gen x but with gen z that changed for some reason. There are multiple different theories some are that how technology works nowadays you don't need as much critical thinking or abstract knowledge to be able to execute tasks and another theory is that it's actually related to lead exposure there was a reduction in lead exposure improved through the generations until gen z when The Vapes became productive where we saw an increase in lead exposure. Either way it is a real thing but I don't think coming to the conclusion that we are the last generation have improved intelligence over the previous one is accurate.

AllAmericanProject

Which makes sense but also I want to point out in this specific genre we're talking about usually people who live in our world with our knowledge and perspectives getting brought into a magical world or getting access to magic and I can tell you 90% of the people bitching about chronic void magic or Shadow magic would pick vo Shadow magic If given the choice! Like yeah a lot of MCS have it because if any of us became an MC most of us would pick those two archetypes.

AllAmericanProject

Exactly this.

AllAmericanProject

Yeah but even then I wouldn't really push back against that argument because I'm not going to give up ground necessary to get to that part of the argument. I don't know if that makes sense but let me explain. Sure we could argue that the divorce statistic is inaccurate but I would rather just give them the statistic and allow us to continue forward as if it is accurate so that we can address the next question which is okay why are we saying a statistic that shows the divorce rates being higher in a specific subgroup inherently means that some group has less healthy relationships?

AllAmericanProject

To be fairto be fair I think HWFWM is popular enough for the acronym to be justified but yea I always find it weird when people use acronyms for books that aren't widely known by the acronym.

AllAmericanProject

I mean I'm sure there are some books that do have that but when you think of like all the most popular ones there isn't actually as much overlap as people try to say. Like Jason from he who fights with monsters, Jake from primal Hunter, Brine from bog standard Isekai, and Zac from defiance of the fall (just to name a few) are all uniquely different.

AllAmericanProject

I mean you usually aren't consuming it for free though right? Like I pay for all my books and I've openly criticized authors like Sean Oswald and they've responded and we just had a respectful back and forth. If the author is going to have a crash out over some criticisms that's not going to end well for them more so than myself
