college is for education
All the sports and greek life nonsense is so dumb, part of the reason why college is become unaffordable, all the extra nonsense. Close down all that crap.

both times you are just proving that you are not fit to vote.
What a failure of democracy to have the uneducated (in matters of civics and policy) vote on their "feelings"
Amazing_Trace
eh mostly people as dumb as you need it more 😂

I'm hoping I have some time till we have to talk about the religious violence, hes 10 😭 honestly I was hoping crusades are coming up in school curriculum in the next couple years or something
Amazing_Trace
Thanks, we said all this in the conversations, its why we don't argue with anyone about their beliefs. I don't believe converations are getting through to him, but I've read couple of techniques in the replies!

I need to find a funny kid for my kid to make friends with 😂
Amazing_Trace
Exactly what I'm trying to teach, to have him keep beliefs and opinions to himself like we do as adults, talking isn't getting through feel like we need some kind of technique.
Someone suggested role-play intense situations... anything else if you got? much appreciated.
Amazing_Trace
Good approach, Humor is how I diffuse situations. I love the kid but he ain't got my funny bone 😂 I can try
Amazing_Trace
Honestly could just be my anxiety but trying to avoid it getting to the point that he starts going to look for these arguments. I hope it never happens!
Only child I'm just scared for him as we live in a very religious US state and confrontation is just so opposite to how my wife and I handle situations like this.
Amazing_Trace
thanks, I will give the role-play thing a shot. I had not thought of that.
Maybe enough examples will get him a general sense of not engaging people who are saying things he doesn't like.
Amazing_Trace
We do not, thats why I am so concerned. If we agreed with his behavior I'd be having words with the other kid's dad instead of trying to find a way to stop my child from doing that.
We never talk about religion other than that talk couple years ago when he asked about religion. Its not really a part of our life at all. Can't remember last time my wife and I talked about religion or religious people.
Amazing_Trace
Thanks. Yeh this is making me think of all that. Even revisit every little thing that may not have raised a flag. I can't think of much.
We haven't heard any other complaints he does get along with our friends kids just fine and does have friend group at school. He knows never to use physical violence against bullying/conflict, only words. Now we're wondering if hes been calling kids crazy for other things too and it just never gets to us. He says no it was just with those kids..
We are kind of hesitant to bring it to teacher's attention. This is a pretty religious part of the US. Although a public school, the teacher may have biases with their own beliefs/single him out as problematic. But that may be the next step if we can't get him to understand restraint.
