UCSF must be in dire need, that’s where mine just went too, though I’m in SoCal

I have a former TNR cat and she has a clipped ear. She was living under a storage unit at the after-school program where I worked. She couldn’t stay there, as she was using the kids’ play area as her litter box. We trapped her and brought her home. She’s adapted well to being a pampered house cat, though she is still more skittish than my other cats

Every year around Christmas I made apple cider caramels. One year, my mom wanted to try making them. Guess what she did? Yup, vinegar, not apple cider. I don’t get it.

It can range from a nothingburger to severe flooding. It’s going to be worse at the foothills and coastline. I’ve lived through 4 (I think) ENSOs. One caused flooding at my high school. We had three days off. Another one, we had just moved from Stanton to Huntington Beach. We hadn’t yet sold the place in Stanton. When the rain stopped and we went back to check on the old place, there was a water line 1 foot high in the garage. That same ENSO, I was babysitting my niblings. My BIL worked 3 miles away. It took him 2.5 hours to drive from his work to my house because the rain and flooding was so heavy.

October is usually too early for the rainy part of El Niño. That will come later. However, October can be very hot and windy.

Pulse point says outdoor fire but that doesn’t seem right with a tent, unless they found a body in the fire

Not to mention the makeup artists (my SIL has worked as a makeup artist at KSF for 10 years) and the actors who put on the performances. Don’t throw the baby out with the AI bath water

My son got approved quickly but he is intellectually disabled and I could prove he has a low IQ (and some physical stuff too). It was actually harder to get him moved to DAC after his dad retired. The first approval took 4 months (2011) and DAC took more than a year(2024-25).

I’m not happy with Jack either for a couple of reasons. I suspect I’ll get him to 10 and then shut him away on a floating island

I don’t think Sears was there, but JC Penney’s was and they had tire service

Thanks

I’m not freaking out, but I don’t understand how it’s changing. I pay $2/episode or $10-$12/month. Is Patreon going to charge me a flat $10 or a flat $2? My brain isn’t braining right now

The bioavailability of iron in spinach is very low. Red meat is still going to be your best bet. Then supplements. Even fortified cereal isn’t very bioavailable.

I went to the Civil War Reenactment in HB Central Park.

I’m angry at myself. My youngest son (31 years old) has been in the hospital since Saturday. Tests today determined it’s not either of the serious things they were considering. At first, I was like YAY! But then the anxiety started up again. I started Googling things again. I spiraled and now I’ve convinced myself it’s some other serious, deadly disease. Now here I am, angry at myself for being unable to stop the anxiety, googling and spiraling.

Labcorp charges $40. The American Red Cross does it once per year

I’m in the US. My blood rarely stays close by. My most recent donation went to a hospital about 6 miles away. Of the 48 donations in the app, only 5 have stayed in my county. I prefer when my blood goes further away. Once the donation went all the way to Pago Pago American Samoa.
The American Red Cross says something about making sure local needs are met first, maybe something similar in the UK?

The place where I give blood (ARC) is in an industrial park, in a fairly expensive city, in an expensive county, in an expensive state. I found a nearby space for rent at $18/sq ft/year. Guessing at the square footage of the building, that’s upwards of $400,000/year in rent. That’s before they even pay the nurses. They have to get $ somewhere
AmbitiousCommand9944
Maybe the Asian Garden Mall on Bolsa in Westminster
AmbitiousCommand9944
You know what I love about being a blood donor? If I give $ to a charity, I have no idea what happens to that money after I donate it. They could be living high off the hog (I gave to a charity called Modest Needs and the CEO was convicted of embezzling $2.5 million). But if I give blood, that is actually going to help people. All blood helps the greater good

Walk slowly as you near one. If you are moving fast they’ll run away. It should stop and go into the red light/green light game
Interrogated her?!?!? Yikes. She not does not need or deserve to be interrogated about who she dated.
