Interestingly, I believe Washington is the one state with such a rule applicable to roadways with three or more lanes (RCW 46.61.100(2)). Which isn't to say the original comment wasn't kind of snotty.

Cocaine, most opiates, opioids, barbiturates, etc., etc., etc. aren't Schedule I but you can still put people in prison for them. My understanding is that the idea is to put cannabis under the same schedule as Ketamine.

the headlights of the car behind him creating a silhouette.
I find they're more often completely lost in the LED glare of a million suns.

Problem there is that the instrument cluster is frequently set so deep that you can't see it in daylight with the lights off. That's a consequence of aerodynamic design.
Volkswagen had a thing where they'd turn the instrument lights off at night until you turned on the headlights. Of course, Volkswagen being Volkswagen, automatic headlights were a higher trim option even though the hardware was all there.

Ostensibly at least, this reeks of their weird trans obsession.

It's so you don't display red and green ball signals at the same time. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Variations_in_traffic_light_operation#Dallas_phasing.

Where are the "no passing on the right" absolutists when you need them?

Florida doesn't have mandatory bodily-injury liability, so maybe not.
AnonymousGrouch
Bodily-injury liability coverage is optional in Florida, so there's no guarantee the cyclist would be able to collect, at least in any timely manner.

You need FAA authorization to arm a drone in the first place. I'm not sure you can't legally hunt pigs with a drone but the paperwork is such that even those YouTube explosives guys in Texas didn't want to fool with it.

That section literally means to drive on the right side of the road, American style.
That's 545.051(a) and you're correct; it's frequently misinterpreted to mean something it doesn't by people who choose to ignore both the definition of "roadway" and 545.051(a)(4). 545.051(b) is pretty unambiguous about moving to the right if you're a slowpoke (while being super ambiguous about what constitutes slowpokery) but doesn't really say anything about passing per se.
And, yeah, you have to be going conspicuously slowly to actually get a cop's attention.

Titling isn't expensive. I have to assume there was sales tax and maybe a dealer fee in the mix.

The quoted section merely authorizes the signs; obedience falls under Tex. Transp. Code § 544.004 COMPLIANCE WITH TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE.
"Pass or passing" is defined at § 545.001(2) and "slower traffic keep right" is at § 545.051(b).

If you're cruising in a lane, you're not legally "passing" at all, even if you're overtaking other vehicles. "Passing" means leaving your lane, overtaking, and returning to the original lane (this is a statutory definition). If there are "passing only" signs posted, that's the only thing you're permitted to use the left lane for.
If there are no signs, the only obligation is to use the rightmost lane if you're "moving more slowly than the normal speed of other vehicles at the time and place under the existing conditions."

It's right there in the first paragraph:

Some of those trucks are awfully far to the left but apparently driving on the shoulder to facilitate overtaking is a common courtesy in South Africa. Other than that, it just looks like an ordinary two-lane highway to me.

Hardly an unbiased source (which is a polite way of saying lawyers are full of shit). Every source has different numbers but Texas is never at the bottom.
Arrest, not detention. See Tex. Penal Code § 38.02.
Now, if you're driving, failure to present a driver's license is a Transportation Code offense for which you can be arrested, and then they can darn well demand ID.
