Do you think photos made more than 10 years ago are objectively bad?
If you don’t have IBIS, use a tripod, you’ll get even better results.

Ps5 costs $600 over at least 6 years ($8.33/mo or less), indie games can be had cheap $5-20. If someone does 5-8 $60-80 AAA games a year and a couple indies a month, it’s a lot cheaper than things like wood working. And way cheaper than maintaining old cars or a boat.
However if someone buys every console (and upgrades from the original to the slim to the pro versions of the console) and regularly upgrades a PC and buys a couple AAAs a month and maintains a steam library to the point they have games they don’t play (not unheard of), it can be very expensive.
Like most hobbies you can come at it on a budget or you can burn money.

DCC will argue if that is the case they would have them in red white and blue or American flag colors. They specifically chose to imitate the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders over many other options.
Everything with intellectual property is murky and it's always another court case away from changing precedent, and I don't have a lot of faith in the current courts to hold the same liberal view of free speech and parody as past generations.
ApatheticAbsurdist
Yes but are they making a commentary on the Dallas Cowboys? If not the legal standing gets more murky. Parody isn’t a bullet proof defense. If they make the claims you make, then there is zero justification to use the star and they should aim more generic.

Getting repeated Err 70 is not a feature of the R6 II you have a problem you need to figure out. Could be a lemon of a camera but the only way you'd get the same errors on R5 Mk II is if you have a lens/card/etc that is causing the error and bring it over. And the R5 MK II will have better AF tracking then the R6 Mk II. Be very careful if using SD cards are there are a lot of SD cards on the market that are forgeries (cheap/problematic cards relabeled as a reputable brand). Regardless try to find the source of your problems of the Err 70 because that's not acceptable.
Be mindful that doubling the MP isn't as much as people often expect. It's 1.4x in 2 dimensions (if you want to crop to 1/2 the width and 1/2 the height, you need 4x the MP cause you're cropping to 1/4 of the image. If you need to crop 1/2 the width and 1/2 the height regularly... consider a longer lens instead of increasing resolution as you'll get much better detail that way.
But if you like Nikon colors then Nikon is worth pursuing but it's going to cost a lot to switch when you factor in lenses.
A Z9 is likely out of your budget, especially when you consider you need to replace lenses but you might find used deals but also keep an eye out for deals on a Z8 with a vertical battery grip as it's very close comparison.
With your budget as it is sticking with Canon might be better. The R5 II is a solid camera (and maybe with RAW you can find adjustments that get you closer to colors you like). But if that's too much you can look for what you think is the most important: If you need better AF the R6 III is a noticeable improvement but is only 32MP, if you need resolution the R5 would have close to the same AF as the R6 II but be 45MP.

I mean it fits the definition of original MIT style hacking, but computer hacking hasn’t meant that for decades.

Beard’s made a couple Christopher Lloyd references (when talking about One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, “I’m more a Taber man”) and always hoped they’d have Christopher Lloyd do an appearance as Beard’s estranged father.

Learn to use lighting a flash off the ceiling goes a long way indoors and lower light, but adding a couple more lights gets you into stock image looks. You don’t publish shots of people in the work place at 12800 ISO even if you have a $5000 camera. You add light.

Every time I suggest someone consider a 24-120 I get 20 comments saying how you need to get a 24-70 f/2.8 instead.
ApatheticAbsurdist
The 24-120mm is a sleeper that everyone craps on but it makes such a good travel lens, the difference from 70-120mm is huge and the difference from f/4 to f/2.8 isn’t as big as people thing (And in terms of depth of field 120mm makes up for the f/4).
A 70-200mm can still be useful but beyond 200mm f/4 is going to be bigger than you think. 300mm at f/4 means the aperture is physically bigger than an 85mm f/1.2 (the same advantage that makes 120mm f/4 have that shallow depth of field is fighting you in size here as you go to longer focal lengths). you can look at variable aperture 70-300mm’s but you’re looking at f/5.6 or smaller at the long end but they’ll be light. there are things like 150-600mm but they will be big and f/6.3.
If you aren’t compelled to go beyond 120mm, then you can go 3 ways: 1) an ultra wide zoom 2) a very wide aperture prime at the focal length that fits your style the best 3) a tiny pancake prime lens to have something super portable (when you want to leave the 24-120mm in the hotel room).

I mean I won’t criticize someone who doesn’t even know the controls of a character in QP, but I think playing in the practice space/vs AI/arcade is not a bad option for a round or two to figure out what each ability does or get a feel for the cool down times. But after 5-10 minutes of that you need to start playing against humans and playing as a team, which is what QP is for.

Gotcha. Yeah I feel you don’t find many preppers in cities, I feel they’re just completely different mind sets.

It’s a different type of life style. I’ve lived a suburban house life and a city apartment life. In the city, particularly if you have a smaller apartment, you’re just not home as much. There are things to go out and do. Go take a walk around the block, go to a park, walk to the library. Eat out or go to the bar more (outside of the tourist areas, some places like pizza/tacos/chinese/peruvian can be cheaper than making food yourself). I was in better shape when I was in a small apartment in the city because I was a lot more active.

I live in 2 states cause of work. I have a garage (and basement) with all my tools and such at the house (and I need them for the house). In the other state I have an apartment and I joined a maker space that has all the tools I could want and some (lathes, metal presses, CNCs) that I would never buy. The former is more for maintain the house, the later is more a hobby.

Some hobbies don’t need as much stuff as others. Some hobbies you get the stuff when you go to the place you do the hobby at. Some hobbies you do somethign and then give it away. I know a number of people who knit and they need a little yarn and such, but they give away (or sometimes sell) what they’ve done as they finish it, so it’s only a tiny amount of stuff. I’ve known gamers who need massive PCs connected to 40-60” screen (basically a TV), gaming chair, large desk, with recording studio quality monitors (that they never use cause Headphones are better). And I’ve known people who play a playstation through an old 17-20” monitor.

It’s cause they cost more per square foot. If a 100sqft apartment was legal, it would still need plumbing, separate water and electric meters, a door way in the hall, etc. so it wouldn’t cost 1/8th the price of a 800sqft apartment, in reality it probably would cost around 1/2 or even more than 1/2 the price of a 1 bedroom because those things every apartment needs cost the most money. Every time you go up in size you don’t need to add nearly as much plumbing and you can fill in corners of the building that are away from the hallway.
Also buildings need to be built around the occupancy. Yeah a building could bring in more rent if they fit in 100 200sqft studios vs 25 800sqft 1 bedrooms, but while 4 people aren’t going to be living in a 1 bedroom, 4 people will certainly be living in 4 studios. That means the stairs, elevators, everything else have to be designed around the higher occupancy
Super small spaces are illegal often because of the higher risk of things like fire hazard and such.
That said the US varies wildly. There are places lIke NYC where space is at a premium and you will find some smaller spaces (even some “luxury micro apartments” that aren’t cheap but are in nicer locations where a full sized apartment would be only for the ultra wealthy) but we have a lot of smaller and medium cities with a lot of space so optmizing has never been a priority there.

Thanks but I’m not going down to 24, one of my reasons for wanting to step up is the small bump up from 36-45. I’m spoiled at work (Hasselblad and PhaseOnes) and I occasionally do some side work shooting art so I tend to use resolution more than others. I don’t care if another camera has better AF or features than the Z7II unless that camera is the D800 I’m using. I don’t need the best, just looking for better than what I have.
ApatheticAbsurdist
I appreciate you trying to help but that doesn’t answer the question I asked. I don’t want a Z6 because I use the resolution and I am interested in what ways the Z7 II is worse than the D800. I don’t care if something is better than that, I want to know if it’s better than what I have. If the only option is $2800 for a used body only, I’ll stick with my D800 a bit longer. But I can get a used Z7II for half that, which could be worth it if it’s better than my D800, but not if it’s worse.

Museums hire framers. They have large number of prints and photographs that need to be rotated on view or stored so tons of matting work and a decent amount of framing.

For city scapes and neon lights it’s not a problem with a tripod and you might even do better than someone with an f/1.8 prime who doesn‘t have a tripod.
With a tripod you can shoot for 10 or 20 seconds and so long as nothing is moving it will be tack sharp, shooting that long will let you shoot at 100 ISO Even if you’re at f/5.6 or f/8.
People however at the issue, they won’t be still long enough for a long exposure. But you might get away hand-held at 1/15th of a second or faster.
Keep in mind that f/1.8 only gives you a touch over 2 stops improvement.

Typically the simplistic solution is a fail open method… the lock is powered, if electricity fails or the signal to the fire system is lost, they system goes to an unlocked state.
Other systems will do this but have a built in delay that will sound an alarm for 30 seconds before the door is deenergized to give time for security to be in place.

Good advice (was thinking that and often recommend to others) but Lens Rentals only lists the original Z7 and not the II, so I have to see what my options are.
I’ve heard Americans say it in the context of thanks, but it’s the same as them saying “Danke” basically saying it referencing another culture. Cheers is more commonly used as a toast before drinking and that’s about the limit outside of pretending to be someone else.
