Wow memories of playing this game on my genesis way back then. Outlander.

People’s General! It was on sale on GOG and I found the use of helicopters and using Air Support rather than air units quite a modern take on the whole deal. Good graphics, hand drawn maps. The AI is challenging as well, more so than Panzer Corps I feel, able to exploit gaps in my lines to attack rear cities and destroy isolated units that advanced too fast.

WDS: Poland 39 and WDS: Eagle Strike. Great system once I got the hang of it 😁

Same experience here. I’ve been holding off on iRacing for more than 6 years ever since I got my rig. Then tried it 3 years ago through Steam, but didn’t get a good experience because I had difficulties back then signing on to two different service platforms and kept getting disconnected.

Tried it again this past month, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Playing it daily. The best thing about it vs offline racing with AI is that there’s weekly progression. So I don’t have to think about what car to race and which track to race on everytime I sit on my rig.

It’s a good video, since it always a bit confusing to choose what to buy from WDS’ extensive catalog. I have gotten Poland 39 after playing the Mius demo, but got a bit daunted and am now looking for less counter dense and smaller scenarios that I can complete in an evening or two. Am thinking of getting the first in the series, Smolensk 41, or perhaps France 40 since it’s such a labor of love, or maybe Market Garden since it looks smaller and more manageable.

Thanks for this, good reference

Yes, this has happened to me a few times too. And this is the solution.

Apprehensive_Web1295

Had that same experience as well a few days ago, my first ever perfect pit stop, and thus I didn’t finish last 😀

Wohoo! Finally a Panzer Campaigns game on sale, and a relatively newer release one like this! Gonna buy tonight

Apprehensive_Web1295

Thank you for the tip. Is the AI competent enough on the Afrika PzC series or other WDS games that have lots of movement?

Apprehensive_Web1295

I have been drawn to WDS’ Panzer Campaigns Mius 43 demo lately, after enjoying my time in WDS’ Crusades Book 1. At first I was intimidated by the counter density and size of the main scenario, but the tutorial scenario eased me in pretty well and gave me an addictive kick with the Ranged - Disrupt - Assault battle sequence. Also, the Player’s Guide document that is included is very helpful for a new player like to to understand how to analyze the starting positions and plan the opening moves and attacks in the first couple of turns.

Thus, I have been waiting for a Panzer Campaigns game to show up on the weekly sale, anticipating each Monday with delight, only to be disappointed that some other series showing up 😂

Ya I couldn’t handle the politics yet 😅

Apprehensive_Web1295

Damn, that’s the first time I’m aware of that. mind blown

I got it in a steam sale last year. So happy to finally finish the base game a week ago! Portability with the Steam Deck, ability to pick it up and play it for a few minutes really makes a difference

Apprehensive_Web1295

Ah I used to prefer the 2D as well, but the latest update make the 3D counters look good. Plus I rarely make mistakes with facing when using the 3D counters compared to the 2D ones

Apprehensive_Web1295

Good to learn something from Redditors from time to time!

Apprehensive_Web1295

Having lots of fun with WDS: Crusades Book 1 after buying it on sale last week. Been playing with the 3D counters. The music and sounds give such an immersive feel! It’s a lot of fun.

Apprehensive_Web1295

Oh I should give it a shot with my Steamdeck then since I’m travelling for quite a while

Apprehensive_Web1295

Thanks for sharing this method of playing your board games! Really opening a big box of possibilities here…

Apprehensive_Web1295

Huh, post and delete…

Apprehensive_Web1295

Been looking forward to seeing this as Game of the Week!

Apprehensive_Web1295

13 year hiatus, welcome back to the game 😄

Apprehensive_Web1295

It’s a jackpot!

Apprehensive_Web1295

Third is a good option: practice shots, especially the risky ones, to see if I can get a new way of doing things.
