Reddit is actively trying to internationalize its userbase, and has been pushing the translations on other language speakers for a couple years now.
If you click a link to Reddit from Google and your browser's default language is set to something else (say, French), then the whole page will be auto-translated to French (like this), and the comment box will encourage you to comment in your own language, saying that it will be automatically translated in other languages (which is still half baked and quite buggy, which makes me think that the Reddit devs are English-only speakers, by the way)
A new user may not even understand that the page was originally in English (even though there is now a line in small characters at the top of the page to indicate this)
I imagine that it is annoying for mods, but forbidding users to use the site as the interface is urging them to won't end well.

The gooner* side of reddit

Same. I think the last time I had to switch to Windows to play a game was for StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm in... checks notes... 2013.
Ash_Crow
Windows has actually been under the 80% treshold for at least a year https://gs.statcounter.com/os-market-share/desktop/worldwide
I think the end of Windows 10 support for computers that can't run Windows 11 made a ton of people either get Linux on their existing machine (there were a ton of general public-oriented install parties at that time) or switch to Apple computers.
SteamOS is great, but it doesn’t meaningfully challenge Windows at all.
Agree with that part. It would need other constructors to follow the movement with pre-installed Linux machines to make a significant change. Laptop vendors generally have a few machines with Linux pre-installed, but they often target devs, not the general public.

They appear more than once in the game.
Apart from The Rescue in the prologue, they are also in a few gigs, and randomly on the map where they can land in some places to take someone.

Mid century is just 24 years from now.

"And the fight isn't even that difficult."
That depends on your build. And that's the issue, gameplay wise: the fight has to be winnable for all builds, which makes it quite easy with an even moderately optimized one.
Ash_Crow
Not currently.
Ash_Crow
So did Falco in season 1.
Ash_Crow
"he'll be forced to make BD's since that's what people want"
By the way this is one thing I didn't understand in this season. Fiction movies may very well be replaced by BDs, but Roman wants to document and we can see that the news are still scrolled in 2D.

OP didn't ask for anything sexual.

As far as I know, the devs never said why they chose that date.
In the first game, the specific date doesn't seem to hold any particular significance. It is only mentioned once, in the middle of Captain Maxson's diary, which covers most of the month of October, and is not even centered on it but on the events going on at Mariposa.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was chosen at random, given that Fallout 1 is very vague on pre-war history.
Ash_Crow
I was there too. But you are right about one thing: I don't need to bring quotes to support the fact that the reception to Fallout was overwhelmingly positive. You are the one making the wild claim, the charge of proof is on you.

"Les Super Nanas" would be better translated as "The Super Chicks" or some other familiar term. "Nana" is slang in French.
Ash_Crow
"Fallout received critical acclaim, with critics considering it one of the best role-playing video games at the time", per the Wikipedia "Reception" section of the FO1 article.
And the fact that Infinity engine games play differently doesn't erase the fact that they were also praised and that more broadly the era (from the late 1980s to the early 2000s) is considered a golden age for CRPGs.
Ash_Crow
They absolutely did make them like this at the time. Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Planescape: Torment... And that is only counting late 1990s Interplay games.
And it was also Interplay that made the franchise stupid with FO:BOS, not Bethesda.
Ash_Crow
This is not how you do it. You must avoid that sign with good wording still.
Ash_Crow
Corny?
Ash_Crow
The point is that the question was too vague: it can be common in some countries and not in others.
Ash_Crow
Well, it does? Just because your local McDonald's didn't do delivery doesn't mean that they didn't do it elsewhere.
Ash_Crow
More than the overarching plot, what makes the movies look like fanfictions is that they tried to get the whole cast (or at least as many as possible), which means that they have to give them something to do... And then we end up with many subplots and no time to develop them properly.
Ash_Crow
That's been patched for 12 years
Ash_Crow
Of course. I just mentioned one million to give a readable example.
And yes they clearly had a problem with their number generator, but also with checking the strength of the actual generated certificate.
Yes and no. It's the effective end of Paul's cycle, but the next story (Children of Dune) is set just 9 years after.
