I’m from Springfield. I’m not sure that the absence of the Haitian population would help rent or home prices much at all. Maybe 10% if you’re lucky. Although to be frank, the US played a large part in screwing over Haiti with billions in mismanaged recovery funds. We created this crisis. And for those feeling like they’re being mistreated, they’re being used for cheap labor, that’s the ONLY reason they’ve been brought here. The govt DOES NOT CARE about these immigrants, regardless of party. Haitians generally don’t like us, and they can be very rude and disrespectful. Ask retail workers there, they’ll tell you the same. That being said, I can understand because I don’t care for much of them either. They call us “Springtucky” because it’s a lot of white trash. If you’re not from Springfield, or live there, I think you should sit this one out. Springfield was never asked or pushed for this. Big money wanted cheap labor. By the way, I think Moreno is dog trash, regardless if he immigrated legally or not.
