If you are looking for resiliency, you should go with ethereum not solana. Or do both, not much to lose there.

Well first, you don't make it clear that you can't use the self hosted version with the paid features unless you pay even more. I need privacy for my business, I don't want my clients data stored in the cloud. Its $300 a year for the cloud hosted version and another $550 a year if you want to self host, that is absurd, but you don't find that out until its too late and there isn't refunds.
You advertise like its a simple straight forward tool, and it is far from that. That is probably my biggest gripe; you advertise so much to a general audience on lots of youtube channels for a tool that is absolutely not for the general audience. Anyone that needs odoo, is probably already aware of it, and anyone that isn't, probably doesn't need it.
I've been using gusto for a few months now, and its fine, and its way way way cheaper. It doesn't do everything I need, and I'm still lacking in some areas, but all my client data except for the actual payments is not in the cloud which is what I need and care about.

I am new at owning a business, but I do understand the differences, and now I am piecing together a bunch of apps/tools when I was hoping for one platform, but for the cost of going with bespoke apps that are better at each of their parts and cheaper, odoo doesn't make sense for anything except project management and inventory tracking, which I am running the self hosted community edition for.

If you are coming from reddit, the "sync" app works pretty well and used to be for reddit but is now for Lemmy. Lemmy.world and lemmy.ml are good instances for the most part.
You don't need to understand or care about a lot of how it works, the main cool thing is you can see/interact with posts all over the fediverse, not just your instance.
My "home page" content isnt too different than what reddit used to be in the early-mid 2010s, news posts, some good memes, random questions...it's not flooded with bots and karma farmers. There is no account karma, which I think is a bit healthier.

Ya same, I was pretty iffy about the prints having to go through their servers anyway.
I wont be buying their filament anymore either and will just reuse the rfid tags

Did they send you a new one?

I've got the same setup but its not charging anywhere near 100w. 100w anker brick and anker cable that can handle it.
edit: this app helped me with trouble shooting https://apps.apple.com/us/app/wattsconnected/id1639692859?mt=12

The economic properties of a coin like inflation can be discussed only as part of a larger discussion about the technology.

This post is probably better for /r/CryptoCurrency as its not related to anything technical

You should have a basic understanding of cryptography, but you definitely don't need to be an expert. You should get comfortable with concepts like hashing and signing if you aren't already, those are very common primitives, and different types of hashing and signature schemes. Zero Knowledge/Programmable Cryptography is growing in the space and provides pretty powerful mechanisms, but there is a bit of a learning curve just to use ZK.
As far as languages go, I think it depends on which level of the stack you are trying to build. If you want to build applications on top of blockchain, learning javascript/typescript and solidity are the way to go. If you want to get deeper into the stack, then it depends on what you want to build, a lot of clients are written in a variety of languages. Rust is definitely becoming a favorite in the industry. Python is always good for prototyping. C++ is primarily used by academics in the field and I wouldn't suggest it for production unless you have a lot of experience in it already. Golang is preferred by some, but I think preferences are shifting towards Rust.

Right, but now we have early election season and 2 wars

Ya that was me and another mod (/u/neophyte) who that top mod removed. Honestly, this whole thing put a bad taste in my mouth about reddit, and after the api stuff in June, I haven't been on reddit. Im glad these changes are being made now, but quite a few communities have already been wrecked because of this. I appreciate you Max, thanks for bring this up, hopefully it inspires more change for the better.

I would pay for Lemmy Sync 💯. I'm generally against preorders... But I'll preorder this.
Edit: also I found this post on Lemmy LFG

Woh, that's some next level wild shit

What happens if the restaurant doesn't mark you as arrived, will you never get the deposit back? Some restaurant owners are sketch.

That depends on what you are staking.
If you are ok with locking up your funds for a while, and you have enough, Ethereum is about 7% apr right now. It should be relatively consistent, but does take a little bit of work to setup, you need 32 eth to start, and it takes a little bit of maintenance (like 10 min every 2 weeks or so just to do updates).
If you are comfortable with taking a bit of risk, and know how to use metamask, yield farming is pretty profitable. Sushi swap or uniswap is what I would recommend there. I'd also say you probably need at least a few thousand to do that because of transaction fees, unless you move to polygon.
down for me too
