Those numbers are based on active hours so I would assume volume doesn’t have anything to do with it.
In my experience (Phx market) Lyft tends to pay better during slower times / average times especially on short trips, but during peak times Uber usually pays significantly more
AtomikAtom
That seems to be about the normal cost here in Phx for a normal airport trip. I’ve had people say they have paid $150 for a 20 - 30 minute trip during peak times. I believe them as my pay was $75. If you are visiting a city with no car Uber would love to lube you up.

Google most dangerous jobs. Drivers are the 6th most dangerous according to OSHA. Besides accidents, taxi drivers are 30x more likely to be murdered than the average job. In most cities you’re more likely to die as a driver than being a police officer.

That’s active hours! That’s scary🫣 Drivers don’t know their worth. Not only are you sacrificing your car. This is one of the most dangerous jobs and some of you are are doing it for less than minimum wage🤦♂️
Stop accepting trash🗑️

This is why we need Unions:
Drivers in Seattle make more per mile and per minute because of local minimum pay ordinances won by drivers' unions. [1]
Key Factors Driving Higher Rates:
Mandated Minimum Pay Standards: Seattle requires rideshare companies to pay at least $1.63 per mile and $0.70 per minute (plus a $6.12 minimum per trip) during passenger time, which are among the highest rates in the nation.
State/City Labor Regulations: Progressive local and state laws regulate app-based minimum pay, forcing platforms like Uber to elevate baseline compensation compared to other markets (such as the rest of Washington or other states).

Bottom left corner. Looks like 2 lollipops laying sideways. Click that. Turn on Uber Eats, turn off Uber X.

These comments are driving me nuts. If you don't want addition passengers turn off Uber X & have only delivery on, you won't get another request until ride is done. If Uber automatically adds a PAX and you don't like the pay or additional miles are to far, then cancel their ride.
Shared rides are either amazing or a nightmare you absolutely need to know how to use them properly to avoid nightmare scenarios.
***1st thing to know is if you start with a surge, that surge gets multiplied for each PAX. Imagine a unicorn scenario, an event lets out there is a $35 surge and 3 people fill up your car ($35 x 3) but the night is busy and everyone added to the original ride is fare +$35. Ok, that probably won't happen to you, but it's happened. I've seen people post $200 share rides in my local group.
***2nd thing is morning people know what's up, they are taking a ride to work and have done shared a dozen time. It's the bar crowd ordering an Uber after getting wasted, they are just looking at the cheapest ride and ordering not knowing it's shared. I like to text or even better call them to make sure they are by themselves and make sure they know it's a shared ride. I you call you can make a judgment call how drunk they are. If they are incoherent on the phone it's not going to be worth picking them up.
I tend to avoid shared rides unless there is a huge surge or particularly juicy

What was the pay? I remember when I first started I would always see orders from McDonald’s / Starbucks in Apache Junction going to Fountain Hills. Pay could be like $40 cause no one wanted it, but then you will be stuck in Fountain Hills

I’ve called support and they definitely wouldn’t tell me(And pretty sure don’t know). I had a stacked order with the second restaurant being an order that was already picked up which is why I think the order was priced well.
I called to see what I would be getting paid and she originally said I would be paid the full amount I was offered. I told her that isn’t true and then she said she didn’t know what the tip was on the first order. I told her that I won’t deliver then if I don’t know what I will be getting paid. We ended up canceling the order and I ate the food.

I’ve delivered $400 in gatorade to a construction site. I have an SUV, I can’t imagine dashers trying to fit that in their 2003 Honda Civics

I’ve got to the store before and was like naw, F this over water too. So glad I did, it was a good stacked order but after completing the other half I saw the water order would only have paid $4 or $5
AtomikAtom
That order is $20 an active hour. Unless your already there on a DD from the same restaurant going the same way as your UE your not making $25+ hr
AtomikAtom
Nope. $6 minimum, $1.50 mile & $25 an active hour. If it doesn’t meet all 3 it’s a decline
AtomikAtom
I’m not accepting any Chick-fil-A orders on a Sunday

My presets are 80s, 90s, 2000s, 10’s and today. I match the station to when I think the pax graduated high school / college age. When you can tap into their nostalgia + create a more enjoyable ride for them you get tipped more often and better.

I’m happy with any tip for work rides. I understand that taking a ride to and from work every day does add up fast even before tip. $2 would make me smile😊
I know I’m going to get hate for this but it’s things like date night, the bar, and airport where I actually expect a tip.

Ty. I just saw the Turtle on Offer Up also 10,000 out of 10,000 which I though was awesome but now I know.
FYI everyone they are counterfeiting the coins too. There were a bunch of fake Necrowolfs on eBay

Did you change the temperature to 69 just for this picture?

I’m shocked stores like that and big box stores don’t have level 1 chargers free for customers. Not only would EV customers go to your store over your competitors. It would cost practically nothing and would make so much money from people spending an extra hour or 2 shopping just to get like an extra 12 - 15 miles for free.
When I first got my Bolt I took a trip to Laughlin. The only charger in the whole city was a Level 1 charger at a casino. We ate, we gambled, we shopped there for 8 hours

I’d rather get a rubber ducky

I found some at my LCS for $3 over spot. You got a couple I still need. I’m jealous. Is the one that’s flipped over a double?
I came to this thread just to comment about the slooooooooow shipping. Mint Builder can't be beat on price, but expect a month or so for your order. Wizz about them shipping after prices drop I think that was just an coincidence with your order(s). Silver can move a lot in a months time. I've had orders where the metal jumped before they shipped as well as orders where it dropped.
