I mean, there were some from this season: Aomori immediately comes to mind, lol.

AutomaticTrouble6012

Are we supposed to give wrong answers only? If so, then IF EXES ARE PLAYING TREATS ON ME

AutomaticTrouble6012

I mean, the interviews were just as perfunctory in the '80s as they are now...

AutomaticTrouble6012

Paris is no longer considered a Place. That would be On The Map.

AutomaticTrouble6012

I think it's a little difficult to ascertain someone whose political beliefs were shaped by the goings-on in the '80s and '90s, and whose views were forever halted in the '90s. But I would like to think she was a very inclusive person; a Latina Dolly Parton, perhaps?

If I'm going to pretend to be Susie Dent for a moment, Gleek is a noun. If we were to turn it into a verb, I reckon it would need to be a specific thing about the show that you'd do (Break out into a song covered on the show? Quote famous lines? Pretend not to know how to read?) to convince Greg that you are gleeking, lol.

AutomaticTrouble6012

I like this hybrid vote. I don't like people who are actually horrid be rewarded with a place in the final for simply being entertaining. I also don't like deadwood coasting by because they're not hated enough. We should have the ability to save our favourites, but also evict the ones we don't like.

The original Australian wheel took an eternity to come to a stop, which is probably why Burgo had convos with contestants or provided commentary on what the Wheel was doing.

AutomaticTrouble6012

She had a pretty large presence on Much Music shows in the 2000s. She was a frequent panelist on Video On Trial.

AutomaticTrouble6012

Can we have the House of Evil the week of Halloween, and bring back the classic Big Brother 5 theme?

AutomaticTrouble6012

It's pronounced "ahn-ZHIN duh pwah-TRIN." The I's all are pronounced like the I in "bit."

AutomaticTrouble6012

It's Jimmy McGuire (former Clue Crew member, current stage manager for both J! and Wheel) who is stepping in to announce.

AutomaticTrouble6012

Yes; sometimes because of a sporting event, Channel 4 would split an episode into two. Also if there was a live special, it would usually be two shows totalling 90 minutes altogether.

AutomaticTrouble6012

But it was because they had extensive, wall-to-wall live feed and numerous spin-off shows that really didn't warrant a highlights show that was longer than 30 minutes.

AutomaticTrouble6012

I take it your children aren't toddlers, then? Fair enough; Miss Rachel is definitely for very young children, as many of her segments are about getting children to say words.

AutomaticTrouble6012

If L&L had modelled itself more like BBBOTS, it would have been great. BBBOTS always had a super fan celebrity and former housemates, so there was always people invested in the show. L&L always a celebrity guest who had no knowledge of the show other than the recent episode they likely cursorily watched.

Oh god, there's that infamous live feed clip of Ryan and Jen ostensibly having sex in the toilet, and you can hear slurping. It's kinda nauseating, haha!

AutomaticTrouble6012

I remember a live feed where they were hardcore making out in the shower, and they attempted to use a towel to hide, but Big Brother (obviously) got wind of this and admonished them over the loudspeakers, haha!

AutomaticTrouble6012

I think people here need to take off their armchair player hat for a moment. Remember: when you're an actual contestant, you're playing for actual money, and you're playing in front of the actual Ryan and Vanna themselves, and you're playing in front of a live studio audience and (eventually) to a home audience of millions. Not to mention the lights can be bright and hot. Trying to suppress all that nervousness while you make the decision of whether or not to hop on the Express can be daunting.

THE OTHER GIRL? That's Kate Lawler, who won Big Brother at its peak of popularity in 2002! I get that there are adults who weren't born when she won, but come on, you've got to least know a little big of the Big Brother lore!

(She was in the house the same series as the iconic Alison Hammond; they both are responsible for an iconic moment where Alison broke the picnic table in the backyard by jumping on it.)

AutomaticTrouble6012

All Channel 4 series have had live feed, it's just Series 10 that didn't have 24/7 live feed. And even while Channel 5 didn't have 24/7 live feed for the entirety of its run, it had frequent updates on its social media channels (and it wasn't just snippets that they would later show again on the highlights show, it was actual exclusive house footage).

While 24/7 live feed is a pipe dream (but can easily be done; take a look at last year's BBAU revival), keeping viewers constantly informed about the goings on in the house round the clock shouldn't be difficult to do.

AutomaticTrouble6012

BB21 was the nastiest house. The fact that Ali won this wretched series is the cherry on top of an awful year of BB.

AutomaticTrouble6012

John McCririck's original entry into the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2005 was way more iconic than UBB. He tried to hush the crowd (who was actually cheering for him), and then when he got patted down (like they used to before entering through the front doors), they found something that looked contraband, but then Davina had to come up and clarify that it was a weird looking cigar case.

My other favourite entrances:

- Kitten, BB5. She refused to enter the house on launch night until she could see her girlfriend. You could hear Davina's panicked commentary, because it would have been unbelievably awkward to announce someone as a housemate, only to not have them actually enter. The producers caved just this once, but we all knew how much of a bother she was in the house.

-Bonnie, BB7. It wasn't so much her entrance, but rather her OTT VT ("I'm sexeh, I'm funneh, everything and everything" and "Even Davina will be flicking her bean" were iconic quotes) which led to the crowd booing her relentlessly made for an iconic entrance.

-Charlie, BB10. He literally got out of the car, walked past the bank of photographers, and entered the house. It's a good thing he did that, because...

-Angel, BB10. She milked her entrance, and the crowd immediately became antagonistic because of how long she took to enter the house.

AutomaticTrouble6012

The USP of Big Brother is the ability for viewers to track what the participants are doing in real time. It's indeed baffling that they are marketing the show using its USP, but not actually using the USP within the framework of the show itself.

AutomaticTrouble6012

I just find it baffling that they're doing a 24 hour life feed of hamsters, and yet they somehow have no money to do an actual 24-hour life feed for the entirety of the 8 weeks the program will be on.

Priorities...
