He can’t draft defense and it’s a problem. We’ve added zero impact defensive players through the draft in the last 4 years. You can’t build an entire defense through FA.

We have up a 3rd for Judon. He was not a FA. Which is considerably worse.

These guys don’t know how this will play out. They’re speculating based on what happened with Russ. Kirk probably doesn’t want to test free agency coming off his performance this season. I don’t think there so be a lot of suitors out there.

I for one wouldn’t mind an off season that emphasized improving defensively. If the defense finishes strong it gives us something to build on. I don’t see Simmons or Judon returning. Possibly losing Onyemata as well.

There’s more to drafting than 1st rounds. Saying Hellams and Phillips are impact defensive players is a huuuggeee stretch. Allgeier was a great pick, it is also easier to hit on RB than any other position. Newton was projected higher. You can’t tell me this defense wouldn’t be way better with Latu and DeJean right now. They are actual impact defensive players.

Those guys are role players at this point imo. Not an every week impact player. I can’t get past all the different combinations we could’ve had in rounds 1 and 2 on defense in this last draft.

Latu and Dejean in round 1 and 2 would’ve changed this whole defense.

I don’t think it’s being talked about enough. He has failed to draft one single impact player on defense. Not one. His 1st round picks have exposed him to more criticism than almost any other GM and rightfully so. This years draft class could go down as the least impactful rookie class in history.

Strictly based on his play the last month, no one is trading for this guy. We were his last shot and it’s been pretty much a failure at this point. Kirk was a miss and they’re not going to admit that they were wrong.

It would be a very Cowboys thing to do to sign him for too much money to try to make a splash move. I can already hear the boo’s.
