"The future is already here, it's just none of us can afford to live in it."

Romani are the most discriminated against group in Europe, and Disney likes to do a little racism from time to time just in case they can get a few new viewers. Same with shrinking/erasing all the minorities on their Star Wars posters since The Force Awakens. Doom won't be Romani in this movie either.

There's no way Wakanda is giving a shield to John Walker, a guy whose proof that he isn't a raging psycho is teaming up with the woman personally in charge of stealing vibranium from Wakanda for the US government.

has been damaged or destroyed by several occasions by several individuals aliens with space metal and more vibranium.

Second largest state. Nothing happens in it. Just like real life.

(Yes. I'm a Texan.)

Two of the pictures are the same disaster, and five of them are just Manhattan. 80% of New York City watches this stuff on the news.

And New York City is a larger population than most countries, so that's tilting the odds too.

Wanda was taken out by a zap to the head from Rhodey. She was a glass cannon back then, even Hawkeye dropped her in hand-to-hand combat in Age of Ultron.

BZenMojo

Batman (1989) did it first.

The avengers not being formed in BNW is a plot point in Thunderbolts

The Avengers weren't formed 6 years earlier either, so it's not a BNW plot points, it's an Endgame/FatWS plot point from 2019/2020.

Tiamut is a plot point in BNW

9 movies and 4 years later.

Riri becoming an agent of Mephisto will be a plot point in the next project she appears in

If she appears in another solo project. If it's a crossover, probably not.

Wanda reading the Darkhold is a plot point in MoM

That's true. But that was 4 years ago.

Billy resurrecting Tommy is a plot point in VisionQuest

This is a good example.

Agatha staying in Westview without powers is a plot point in Agatha All Along

This is a good example.

Arishem kidnapping the Eternals will be a plot point

It's been five years. Probably not.

Echo shooting Kingpin is a plot point in Echo and is mentioned in BA

Starting to see a pattern here with television...

Yelena being an Avenger matters in BND

Does it though? It's just another cameo. Doomsday seems the real example of this.

Ultron always liked Jarvis. Even when he killed him in AoU he said he regretted it and called him a good guy. We're also talking about a guy who begged Wanda to get off of Sokovia before she died and now he's talking about her like he's never met her. Writers either forget this part of him (which they absolutely didn't if they reuse that "he was a good guy" line from AoU) or he's burying his emotions.

Sapient is an old sci-fi term for writers from back before scientists were studying consciousness in-depth to bridge the gap between a thinking thing and a thing with a soul without having to prove a soul exists.

There's really only sentient (detects the environment) and conscious (knows it is a thing detecting the environment). All of these things are tested through behavior and how a thing acts and responds.

So there's a strong argument that all of Tony's AI have been conscious. Ultron even refers to Jarvis as "a good guy."

She loves her sister, she's staying in this timeline.

The turtles are also Teenage Mutants, just like the X-Men originally were.

What's funny is, I knew who they were, the trailers were nothing like the comic, that had me absolutely obsessed with what this movie was going to turn into. I didn't get that trailer, but what I got was okay.

BZenMojo

No shade on the amazing actor, but they failed to make me care about this guy twice.

BZenMojo

Test screeners were upset that Red Hulk felt like an attack on Donald Trump, so Marvel tried to make him sympathetic by having Sam be nice to him the whole movie and resolving the ending with Betty Ross showing up to look sad in reshoots. I will never trust focus groups at the MCU ever again.

BZenMojo

As someone who hated Age of Ultron, none of the performances were a reason I hated it.

BZenMojo

Ant-Man is a movie where basically everybody but Darien Cross is right and no one really argues over it. I guess OP got in an argument with their brother or something?

BZenMojo

Flies also reproduce faster. And mosquitoes. And locusts. And ants. And viruses.

I think there's a spectrum of people which is basically: "I want to do this, so this would work and he's very convincing --> I don't get how this would work but he seems so convincing --> It wouldn't work, the math is dumb, he's a crazy supervillain, don't worry about it."

There's not even really a middle ground here, it's just bad science on his part and completely reasonable characterization of some old-school, archaic, Malthusian Nazi Volkisch ecofascism printed right there on the label. Besides, the Guardians have fought fascists in every movie but Thor Love and Thunder (genocidal Kree ethnonationalism, Sovereign eugenics and Ego's very literal "blood and soil" Volkisch imperialism where all of the blood and soil is just soil made out of his blood, and the High Evolutionary's super-extra-eugenics with even more Sovereign eugenics) in every single movie, so it's not a coincidence they're fighting an ecofascist like Thanos.

BZenMojo

They didn't show the trees disintegrating, it happened offscreen. Homie said all life.

BZenMojo

There is not enough space for everyone to have a house lol.

What country do you live in where you think there's not enough room?

People per square mile in...
Mongolia: 5.7
United States: 96
Denmark and China: 390
United Kingdom: 740
India: 1140
South Korea: 1400
Bangladesh: 3450
Singapore: 21500

You could fit 8 of the 50 United States just into New York City. If the US population went up to 2.7 billion it would be less dense than England. If it went up to 5 billion it would be less dense than South Korea. It's a distribution problem.

With half the population, the technology we have now gives us a chance to reduce global warming and potentially save Earth.

Also a distribution problem. The average Australian produces over 7 times as much greenhouse gases as the average Indian. In the US, the average American produces twice as much as the average Japanese person or Belgian, 3 times as much as the average Mexican, Briton, or French person, and 4 times as much as the average Swede. If the United States cut its greenhouse gas production to that of the average European, global warming would end overnight... everywhere... all at once.

So, yeah, Thanos is an idiot. And if he cut the population of all life on the planet in half, the fly population would double in two days and there wouldn't be enough predators to eat them all. We would lose half of our oxygen and it would take decades to recover. This planet would be a hellscape by the end of the year.

BZenMojo

Thanos sounds consistent, which makes him appear committed. But he's also a liar, a manipulator, a sadist, and a psychopath with a hair trigger rage button. The problem is that there are lots of people who think someone talking in an even tone and not changing their mind makes them smart, clever, or thoughtful. Unfortunately, some people just want an iron-fisted daddy to tell them to clean their room and think that will solve the universe's problems.

BZenMojo

Now go ahead and tell that to mosquitos, malaria, horseflies, and ebola on a planet with half the oxygen.

BZenMojo

I mean... you're right.
