Bring back Pep to give us another speech on sporting ethics

BadCowz

The initial jolt was impressive

BadCowz

There was a single jarring shake then a few seconds gap then the long swaying

BadCowz

I sadly expect nothing more of Gooner Dan

BadCowz

Ronaldo said the Saudi League was better than Ligue 1 (France)

BadCowz

OP thinking of Spanish World Cup 1982? It was the 81st minute

BadCowz

There were some credible threats but Spain were better. Like the French attack in the 81st minute where Simon does well to come out of goal to stop the initial threat (Mbappe had beaten the defenders) but Simon's header falls dangerously to Doue who messed up the shot.

There were some credible threats which Spain delt with or France messed up

How does a paywall article posted by the paywall company spam account have so many upvotes

BadCowz

oh good, no need for drinks breaks then .... right?

BadCowz

I only know the scientist so was puzzled lol

“When something is not intentional, it should never be a red card."

The rules are designed that way to prevent people acting recklessly without intent. It enforces a duty of care to other players. Luckily people like him don't make the rules. There would be so many more bad injuries.

BadCowz

No you are wrong. It works as an example of a situation where you can judge someone. The requirement for everyone to have to have seen it is absurd.

How is this still so far over your head. Even for a legal conviction everyone does not need to have seen the incident. In fact everyone never sees any incident. Why are you now adding another irrelevant and absurd criteria.

We can judge people based on information we have. We are not convicting them.

BadCowz

You are confusing the criminal legal system with the rest of life.

I think you are referring to the irrelevant principal of legal justice, not civil justice and not the every day judgement of other people based on what we see and hear. I am not putting him on trial. We are free to judge the actions of people regardless of legal convictions. He does not need to be convicted to be a shitty person. I am judging him on the facts we know.

If someone on the street verbally abuses a stranger for no reason then I think badly of them. I don't wait for them to be on trial and I doubt you do too. Contrary to your ridiculous logic we can make judgements based on what we see or hear without people needing to go on trial. We are not convicting people, we are judging them.

Players bringing the game into dispute (for which there are mandatory league clauses in contracts) for example don't need to have comited a legal offence either. Indeed Ivan Toney didn't commit a legal crime, he just broke football rules. Ivan Toney never went on trial. Criminal law is irrelevant.

Your standard seems to be 'accused = guilty'.

I listened to and read the evidence. My judgement was based on the information available and not him being accused. So here you are mischaracterising (implying I didn't even read and listen to relevant information) and judging me while preaching irrelevant nonsense. You don't even follow your own nonsense. You could have just asked but you clearly have another agenda.

BadCowz

lol just because they were the best team in the world once does not mean that they are now the best team in the world. The context of the conversation here is about the effects on current football. You are cooked

BadCowz

Do you know what the allegation was?

BadCowz

in modern media handing out energy bars is probably the prerequisite for that story

BadCowz

Any club which signs such a player should be called out and mocked. This is fine

BadCowz

FIFA imported a production team? From where?

BadCowz

There are no Scottish officials at this tournament. Would be just as bad as any other non-named official suddenly appearing as the referee

BadCowz

USA girls don't play for Spain. The best female team in the world is Spain. They won the last world cup and top the rankings.

BadCowz

I live in a tiny country and travelling an hour for a game was perfectly normal. I would say anywhere in the world where all your games were less than an hour away then you are kinda lucky

BadCowz

Defender was standing still

BadCowz

I have seen quite a few where there was no contact at all but I get what you mean

BadCowz

When you get a life raft then your mate punchers the life raft

BadCowz

What an idiot!
