Staying with Disney for the moment:

Treasure Planet

A solid adaptation of the childhood classic into a science fiction framework. Decently written characters with the acting and direction to do them justice.

Yeah, that line landed verrrrry differently the next time I saw season 4.

One that sticks in my head is not from a character, but a line from the books in The Expanse. It was a description of the basic concept of Humanism:

“Humans can be better than they are, so let’s do that.”

I don’t know why, but it stayed with me.

Not to mention, shortly after the Adama Maneuver we got the Pegasus’ Sacrifice. Took out three Base Stars (one by nova strike barrage on the surprise approach, one with the direct impact, and the final one with the debris from that impact explosion)

Whatever he was smoking when the police burst in, it weren’t ‘charcoal’, Del.

“The Family Friendly System. Everyone gets to play.”

The Grudge (second US remake):

The ending. The protagonist is hugging her child as they are about to head off for school from their new home, having ‘escaped’ from the onryu, only to see the child zipping out of the front door at the other end of the hallway whilst calling out goodbye. Turns back to the figure smiling creepily at her before being grabbed by the hair and dragged off screaming. The view cuts to outside the house where the screaming can be heard for a few seconds then stops abruptly.

Not technically a ship, but DS9 in “Way of the Warrior” when they show just how much punch all the retrofitting has given the station to allow it to hold off a Klingon war fleet long enough for Federation reinforcements to arrive.

“My shields are holding, your boarding parties are contained, and my reinforcements are closer than yours.”

OMG yes!

That whole arc gave both Battlestars glorious moments:

The Galactica with the Adama Manoeuvre (a carrier class vessel jumping in atmo, disgorging its fighter wings, then jumping back out before impact, and the resulting air displacement. Damn that was awesome!)

The Pegasus’ Sacrifice (Pegasus jumps in at a distance and surprises three Base Stars that are pounding the Galactica, obliterating one with a salvo of all her forward batteries and a barrage of missiles, then setting an impact course before abandoning ship which takes out another. Finally the debris from that explosion then takes out the third. Galactica escapes, crew escapes, all her fighters had been left behind to screen the civilian fleet).

Cold Grey Max 1tb. Boosted up the storage as this is going to be mainly PC, Switch, PS3, and X360.

Antz:

Soldier ant Barbatus in the aftermath of the battle is seen to regain consciousness, and start speaking to Z, then the screen cuts to a more distant view and he is literally just a head. “Give it to me straight, kid. Am I hurt bad?”

Aliens:

Marine headcam captures a small acid scorch that is spotted by the support team in the APC, Ripley asks them to pan back so they can have a better look. Then one of the marines says “If you like that, you’re gonna love this…” and brings the attention to a much larger area of acid destruction that has taken out a sizeable chunk of floor.

My favourite was the first one, Afterlight came close second. Aftershock had some issues that hindered it, but I still enjoyed finishing it and getting the story of why it had all happened.

Love that series.

I really need to get down to completing Afterlight. It’s the only one I haven’t done yet.

Solid show. Many great moments and good characters. Very bad ending.
